Thank you for your answer Paul. I have a OBD code P1368. I get a limited performance alert on my dash when it happens, the "limp home mode" but it only happens very seldom, maybe once or twice every few days or sometimes every other day and it only happens for a few seconds or less. Otherwise it runs great. I've worked on cars all my life starting in 1965 and was the crew chief on a spy plane in the Army '69-'71 so I have a lot of experience and this seems to be an intermittent short more than a bad part because most of the time the car runs perfectly. idk, can you offer me any advice here. Thank you so much, Mark

good morning, the fault code you have from memory is allways logged its a system check ok code and is put in each time you cycle the ignition on/off all powertrain codes normally start po. ie. poo68 is absolute manifold pressure sensor or wiring fault poss air leak? po368 is camshaft position sensor high input shorted to B +v. pi codes are body codes i would start by having good look at the engine harness and connectors for chaffing etc. if no luck check the powertrain control module for water ingress an connector corrosion. the module is not easy to get to its under the plastic housings on the rh has you look under bonnet under the cabin filter housing i am calling in where i worked on jaguar all my life until i retired 4 years ago i will se what i can find out anymore clues. good luck

have been in to my old work got on to the jaguar technical info system using a friends password. the code p1368 is a jaguar related code not a generic code which may relate to a internal powertrain module fault. i bet if you remove the powertrain module connector its gone green and corroded. common prob now these cars are getting older. a good clean. with say brake cleaner or something and apply some contact grease it will be ok. but make sure the module has not got water in it remove it from the inside of car in the footwell lh. and let it dry out then make sure you waterproof the connector and all the seals around the removed plastic panels are ok. hope that helps

The stype does not have ignition amplifirers the on plug coils are controlled by the power controle module [pcm] loated under the climate intake box and is prone to water ingress.but there are a coil suppressor capacitor on the back of the cylinder heads which can go short to ground. what is the problem you have?

Knock sensor location

It is not a bad knock sensor necessarily, no code indicates a part is defective just that a problem exists in that circuit, this is where do it yourselfers get into problems. Have it properly diagnosed by the book on special equipment.

I have a 2004 54 plate jaguar x type 2.0 v6 fault code P0346 comes up on scan camshaft position sensor a- bank 2 need help to locate the sensor thank you to all that can help me

http://www.bluejag.co.uk/Jaguar-XType-Engine-2L-V6.php
I haven't finished this page yet so it's only a guide to location at the moment. location 5 and 6.

If you disconnect the sensor and check your error code you will be able to tell which is which (if you get a new code its the wrong bank).
It may pay to check your spark plugs in the bank concered, if the resistance of plug(s) go high this will also cause this fault

I HAVE A JAGUAR XJ6 3.2 1994 , AN NEED THE IGNICION AMPLIFIER CIRCUIT, IS MY FAIL I THE COMPUTER CAR FAIL 24, SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH

Typically code 24 is reserved for the ecu to ignition amplifier. Recheck your fault code by just switching the ignition to "on", wait 5 seconds, then re-check your code(s). Code 24 is uncommon, and very few people have documented this

Other possibilitie is the ignition amplifier is bad or the connection is corroded. The part is easy to get to, and is easily replaceable, but I would not suggest trying to test it yourself unless you know how to use a voltmeter.

If you want to replace it I would first buy a Haynes manual and follow the instructions (they have pictures).

Check additional details in the Jaguar Online Manual in this link: jag-lovers.org/ebooks-index; check the section 10 Engine >> 10.14 Ignition amplifier module (need to register for free).

Also, check this interesting info AJ6 4.0L Engine Management System Diagnostic Guide (pdf format).

Hope this helps; keep us updated.
