For Volvo Xc-90 2005, same problem with only one headrest dvd working. Start playing a dvd in the working headrest, point the remote at the non working headrest, press media button. This should switch the input back from auxillary to dvd. Tell your kids to never press the media button:)
Pull the headrest up to the most extended position, tilt it all the way forward, then you will want to **** or yank upwards slightly to clear the last little groove. Pull up on the chromed stalks, one at a time. This should work. Once you know how much force to apply the first time, it's a snap afterwards.
You can't remove the front headrests from 2009 or later BMW's without first disconnecting internal wiring that runs inside 1 of the posts for each headrest to the inside the seat. This wiring is part of the Active Restraint Safety System that was new for 2009.
If you force it and break the wire you will at a minimum need to spend about $300 at the dealer to resplice the wire by taking the back off the seat.
Im doing the same thing.. Push the headrest full forward, then lift hard to get past last indent in pole.. This worked for the front as well.. i also could not find a hole to push
