SOURCE: perform service jeep grand cherokee 2005

Actually the newer cherokees are a little more complicated, it's not a reminder for an oil change. It is for an emssions service that should be performed according to the dealer. Here is the rest procedure

Turn ignition to on position, but do not start.
Depress brake pedal fully twice.
depress excellerator very slowly twice
Turn ignition off & that will reset the perform service indicator.
I am mechanic & we are getting frustrated because the dealers do not want to release this info to anyone, they want your money! Can you believe if you did not get them to perform the service they charge you a 1 hour shop rate??

SOURCE: How to replace headlights on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

One long bolt at the top - requires a 7mm socket to remove the bolt. The light housing will pry out with a screw driver. There are three ball and socket type connectors that hold the housing in and I just pryed off the plastic housing carefully and "balls" pop out of the sockets. Finally, I was replacing the faded plastic housing and it came with a new wiring harness. It's impossible to reach the connector to use the new wiring harness that comes with the new plastic light housing. So just use the existing wiring harness with the new light assembly.

If you have the same pulley arrangement that most 4.0 engines have that pulley is an idler not a tensioner. Your power steering pump has a pivot bolt, and a slide under the pump. You adjust belt tension using the pump.

Why do I hear two series of 3 beeps after every time I start my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but no warning light on the dash. What is it telling me?

This is Jeep/chrysler's gift to the dealers, it is supposed to remind you to get scheduled service performed...check the manual to disable.

How do you reset the perform service message after changing the oil in a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

http://www.jeep.com/en/owners/manuals/index.html?year=2006&nameplate=Grand%20Cherokee

That should allow you to download a copy of the owner's manual that will detail the reset procedure.

Basically, on Jeep products you

To reset the oil change indicator system (after
performing the scheduled maintenance), refer to the
following procedure:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Do not
start the engine).
2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly three
times within 10 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.
NOTE: If the indicator message illuminates when you
start the vehicle, the oil change indicator system did not
reset. If necessary repeat this procedure.

Everytime I turn the car on the perform service alarms....

Put your key in the on position hold down the reset button (i think it is the reset if not try the other ones) until you hear a beep. This resets the Perform Service so it won;t beep for another 3000.00 miles.

Perform maintenance

This is simply a reminder to change the oil. You can reset it easily.

With the engine turned on and someone in the driver seat. Hit the step button until 0 miles to service appear, hit RESET. A beep will sound and it is done.

You may have to hold reset for a bit, varies from year to year and I forget if you do on 2000.
