under the vehicle...mounted close to the front of the fuel tank...be sure to release the fuel pressure before you disconnect any line..you can do that by removing the fuel pump relay and cranking the engine

SOURCE: Jeep won;t start..new fuel pump installed

try the fuel filter and make sure you have proper oil pressure!! Remeber if you have tried craking to many bad times then the plugs are going to be fouled out!! Means that they are going to be drowned with gas and need replacing!! Also make sure your fuel pump is coming on!! You should hear a hissin or a hummin noise back from the fuel tank!

SOURCE: 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee...Blowing ASD fuse

My daughters jeep had the same problem. We fixed by finding the wires that run beside the manifold down under the car. The conduit that have the wires in it was worn away because of resting up against the manifold, causing the wires to short the system out. Once I replaced the conduit and taped the wires it has not shorted out again. By the way, the Jeep dealer couldn't find the problem.

I want to change the Fuel Filter in my 1996 Luxus-LS400 car. I am unable to trace it. I just want to know the location of the fuel filter in my 1996 LUXUS

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. A easy way to trace the filter is by going to the gas cap. Whichever side you fill gas at. Get under the vehicle and follow the gas lines that lead toward the front of the car. You will then run into the filter.

Where is the fuel filter on a 2003 Chrysler concord

Prior to disconnecting fuel lines, the fuel system pressure must be relieved to prevent accidental spray of fuel.
After the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal driveability symptoms may occur. The vehicle may need to be driven while it relearns its adaptive strategy.
Remove the fuel pump relay from the Power D A clogged fuel filter or problems with the electrical system powering the fuel pump can result in symptoms similar to a failed fuel pump. Have the shop verify that the pump is the problem before replacing. The fuel filter should always be replaced when replacing the fuel pump.
A failing fuel pump will not create enough pressure in the fuel system, potentially resulting in a loss of engine power or a "no start" condition. You may also have a lean running condition that can set a diagnostic trouble code and turn on the Check Engine Light.Fuel pumps require replacement if they leak or begin making too much noise, which is a sign of malfunction. the filter is under car connected to fuel lines when you buy new filter just look under car on fuel lines will lead you to it blessings

How to change fuel filter on 2005 nissan armada

I would start by pulling the fuel pump fuse and starting the vehicle. This will get rid of the pressure on the fuel line. Once the vehicle will not start crank it over for about 10-15 seconds. Then the fuel filter is located under the brake booster on the drivers side. It has two hose clamps that hold it on. Remove the two hose clamps and replace the filter. Then install the fuel pump fuse. Turn the key to the on position and wait till you hear the fuel pump shut off. Turn the key off and repeat this step 3 times to build fuel pressure. Then you should be ready to go!

Shop manual for 2005 Santa Fe 3.5L shows a fuel pump filter in the tank & a standard cylindrical fuel filter outside the tank. Manual states change the "fuel filter" at 45000 mi. Can't find outside...

Change to Exterior filter not the tank filter. The in tank filter is actually a sock located on the Fuel Pump in the tank. This is rarely a problem. The exterior filter is going to be in-line most likely on the passenger side of the vehicle toward the rear. Easiest way to locate it is to trace the fuel lines back tot eh front of the vehicle from the fuel tank.

What would cause my 92 4.9L to run very rich, idle bad, feels like its not getting fuel while driving. Has new fuel pump in front, removed rear. have checked plugs, vac lines, MAP, FPR, IAC valve, coolant...

OK WHEN YOU CHANG ANY FUEL PUMPS YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE GASKET AS THE OLD GASKET GETS EXPOSED TO THE AIR AND EXPANDS WHICH THEN LETS AIR IN IF THE CAR IS ON PETROL THE PUT IRIDIUM PLUGS IN A BMG AIR FILTER(THIS AIR FILTER IS NON THROW AWAY) THEN THE SPARK PLUG LEADS CHANGE THEM TO 10MM TOP GUN PRO RACE SERIES IGNITION SPARK PLUG LEADS THEN LOOK AT AFTER MARKET COLD AIR INTAKE PUT PRO RACE FUEL ADDITIVE PUT THE WHOLE BOTTEL IN AS THERE COULD BE SMALL PARTICALS IN THE FUEL LINES AND INJECTORS IF ALL THIS SOUNDS OVERBOAD THEN YOU COULD TRY REMOVING THE FUEL IJECTORS AND REPLACE THEM WITH GOOD QUALITY ONES UNFORTIANTLY THESE DAYS THE PETROLS WE PUT IN OUR CAR ARE FULL OF CRASP AND CAN BE VERY ABBRASIVE

Removal Fuel Pump

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  1. Remove the rear seat cushion.
  2. Unscrew the service hole cover.
  1. Disconnect the electrical fuel pump wiring at the pump assembly. Check for any fuel leakage while in there.
  1. Remove the gas cap, this will prevent any fuel gas spilling out of any high pressure lines.
  2. Using SST 09631-22020 or an equivalent line (flare nut) wrench, disconnect the outlet pipe from the pump bracket.
  1. Remove the pump bracket attaching screws.
  2. Disconnect the return hoses from the pump bracket, then pull out the pump/bracket assembly.

    5. Separate the filter from the pump. Use a small screwdriver to remove the attaching clip.
    6. To remove the sender, disconnect the wiring from the bracket and unscrew the sender. Remove the screws, connector support, connector and gasket.
  2. Inspect all of the lines, hoses and fittings for any sign of corrosion, wear or damage to the surfaces. Check the pump outlet hose and the filter for restrictions.
  3. When reassembling, ALWAYS replace the sealing gaskets with new ones. Also replace any rubber parts showing any sign of deterioration.
To install:
  1. To assemble the pump:
    1. Secure and install a new gasket, connector and support with the screws.
    2. Attach the sensor and secure the screws, connect the wiring to the pump bracket.
    3. Install the pump filter using a new clip.

  2. Install the service hole cover, then the engage the fuel pump and sending unit connector.
  3. Connect the negative battery cable

Need to determine where the fuel filter is located. Also, how to get to and possibly replace the fuel pump.

To remove the fuel pump, you need to either drop the fuel tank or remove the bed. The pump is in the fuel tank. Personally, I remove the bed, it is easier than dropping the tank, and, more often than not, the tank bolts breal off, or you damage the metal lines on the sending unit. Fuel filter? I NEVER change them unless the fuel is contaminated. It is in the engine compartment; down low. Note that if you DO change the filter, be prepared to replace your fuel lines. The filter metal and the line metal are slightly dis-similar, and "galding" is always possible. That being said, if you take the filter off of the line, 99 times out of 100 the threads on the line will stay on the filter. Not good.
