Why wont my car start?

By now, you have probably figured out it is the battery.
They can quit without notice any time.

I have a 1999 acura 3.5rl. You put the key in and turn it to start position and nothing happens. I thought it was the battery but with the lights and turn the key the lights stay bright. will not come out...

Sure sounds like a bad ignition switch to me. Get out your voltmeter and wiring diagram and check for power in and out at the ignition switch

I CAN PUT THE KEY IN AND TURN NO NOTHING NO DASHBOARD NO POWER TO THE WINDOWS

Does the engine crank at all? Can you hear the clicking of the starter solenoid? Have you checked your battery?

If the battery is fine and the engine won't crank and your dash lights and windows are dead, I'm guessing ignition switch.

I have a 2008 Dodge Charge R/T. When I try turning on the ignition, I get dash lights and the usual warning lamps/power, etc., but the engine won't start when turned full? I have to reinsert the key 2-4...

Sounds like dirty battery cables. Clean top & BOTTOMS!!! Everyone ignores the bottoms and they're exposed to grease, grime...etc. If they're dirty or corroded they form resistance that doesn't allow enough power to starter. You hit the key multiple times, cable heats up, expands makes better contact. I'd start there.

Installed new ignition switch in 2008 dodge charger but now the car wont turn over.get all dash lights and fuel pump runs in acc.but dont turn over in start position.no power to start wire on starter.

Does the key have a chip in it ? I'm not familiar with the car but it sounds like you might be at odds with the anti theft system. Check with the dealer and see what information they have. Good Luck

I have a 2008 dodge charger and when i put the key in and turn nothing happens. I have no power to the radio dashboard but the headkight come on and it will not turn over please help

Take it to Chrysler for an ignition switch replacement. They replaced mine and both keys as I had the exact same problem. It is a known issue to them. Also, the replacement was covered under warranty.

My Key to my 2008 Dodge Charger gets stuck & you have to literally yank to get it out & shove to get it in. The ENGINE turns on & off, but the battery won't turn off. all the lights stay on....

Either you have had a new key made and it does not quite fit, or your key is worn, or your ignition tumbler is bad.
In either cases, this vehicle is new enough that your Dodge dealer can assist you in making a new key ect.
Please let me know what you find.

The 2008 Dodge charger will not start, no radio,no fan. Fuses ok.

I had the same problem last night seems like the ignition is a problem with those cars i called a towing and while i was waiting i kept on trying to start and suddenly it started just as the towing showed up seems like the key is very fragile even just rubbing it on your clothes or even run it tru your hair can **** it up so the car won t recognize the code see your dealer
