1999 chevy lumina sedan stalling problem

My 1999 chevy lumina sedan just started hesitating and stalling about a week ago. The weather has been extremely hot here and seems to do it the most after sittting in the hot sun. The temperature gauge is normal and the cooling system is fine. It losses power and then the engine cuts. I replaced the fuel filter and put injector cleaner in it but it is still doing it. I know the spark plugs and wires are fine as well, so I can't figure out why it's doing this. It feels like it's a fuel delivery problem to me but I am not sure. Anyone that could help me pinpoint what the problem is, I would greatly appreciate it.

Could be the fuel pump, but there was no warning signs. The car started bucking and running like dirt out of nowhere.

1996 Chevy Lumina Sedan Whining noise from engine

The pattern you describe is consistent with an alternator going bad. Maybe the fields are already rubbing together. Test it this way: Start the car and leave on idle, when the whine is worse, then start using up electricity, by increasing the demand. Turn on AC, then lights, then full blower and then high beams. If there is a change in the whine, then either alternator or voltage regulator is the culprit. When a compressor pulley bearing is bad, noise shifts just by turning AC on and off.

Have the codes scanned (If you dont have the tool Autozone or Pepboys will scan it for free) Also look at the cars history If its been more then 2 or 3years since the last COMPLETE tune-up, it might need it. But the stored engine code/s could be very helpfull. Good luck.
