Don't know this car. Check fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge- if correct, not a problem with the pump. Also make sure the pressure will hold for some time with key off. It should hold pressure for several minutes, maybe 20 minutes, some maybe a bit less, but it must hold pressure for a time. If pressure is good, check for spark when it won't restart. If spark is lost, suspect the crank position sensor.

SOURCE: hard to start cold but once running is ok

I believe you have a throtle body correct? IF so you have poor fuel pressure, plugged filter of injector. If by some miracle you have a carberated engine the the fuel is leaking from the bowl. Get a carb rebuild kit.

SOURCE: truck will start and run

From personal experience, that sounds like you might have a clogged fuel filter. a couple of bucks at an auto shop is a good investment. If that isnt the problem you need to get the fuel pressure checked, preferably on the fuel rail to check for possible leaking. A decent mechanic shop will do this if you no problem.

Nissan altima 2005 cranks but won't start is it the fuel pump

When you put your key in, don't turn it all the way but to the point where everything powers up. You should hear a hum from the lower rear that lasts about 3 seconds. That's the fuel pump. If you don't hear that, it could be the fuel pump.

Van runs good then stalls out. then hard to start. If i let it sit for 5 minutes it starts again no problem. Then stalls again shortly there after.

This sounds like a failing camshaft position sensor and weak crank shaft sensor .When crank shaft sensor gets weak it will stop functioning. When crank shaft sensor stops working then ECM will not control fuel system and the fuel will stop flowing. And this can cause the problem. When crank shaft sensor gets heated it will stop working, but when the car shuts off, the sensor gets cold and works for few minutes and sensor again gets hot and it stalls. ---------- Get the crank shaft sensor tested on your Chevrolet venture. ---------- There are many other possibilities for this stalling problem, but crank shaft problem is indicating in your case. Vehicle starts then stalls out like it is out of gas then will not start. let sit for awhile then starts and runs for a minute or so then stalls out again.

Sounds as if your fuel pump is not operating correctly are has gone on the fritz. Of course it also could be your fuel line filter has been clogged up to the point of not letting the fuel flow. I changed two fuel pumps in a ford until I checked the fuel line filter and found it clogged. What it would do was to start and run at low speeds for a few miles, but when I accelerated it would force the gunk in the fuel line filter up to the end and block the gas flow. When I would let it sit for about ten minutes, gravity took over and settled the gunk in the lower part of the filter and fuel would flow as long as the fuel pressure was low.

Check the fuel filter first, then the fuel pump. I think that all of the fuel pumps are now in the gas tank and is a dickens to replace.

if it shuts off after running for a while and will not restart for about 10 min,a bad crank sensor will cause this. abad crank sensor will make car shut off and not restart for about 10 min. put a scanner on to make sure. a check engine light does not allways come on. if you do not have a scanner, any auto parts store will scan it for free.
