Yes there is a sensor that controls Fuel/air ratio.It's called a MAF (mass air flow sensor)
But I think you should have the EGR (Exhaust gas recirculation)valve checked
and The TPS (throttle position sensor)maybe dirty.
Although may things can cause this issue,I would look at the items above first.

Go to the engine compartment fuse relay box and check the fuse ECU fuse right next to it is the main fuse make sure those 2 fuses are not open,for some reason you dont have power
check one and three to see if they are getting fire if not then this could be distributor cap is bad or if it has seperate coils then these could b bad too

the engine losing the pressure check the presser inside the engine you have to have a special tool for that then you take one spark plug out and replace with the tool and check the [pressure.other wised you have electrical problem you losing the ground
