How long since over-all tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? You may need fresh fuel? If your check engine lite still works, you should be able to check some codes, yourself? I don't know liter size of engine?
Is the vehicle flooding? Use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Do you have tbi fuel injection, fuel injector/s in the throttle body. If so, the fuel pressure is 9--13 psi. Also, the coolant temp sensor could cause it to flood. Could be other issues?

How do I replace a fuel filter in a 91 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Edition

Fuel filter is under vehicle in front of l/r tire along frame rain. Need line wrenches/adjustible or open end wrenches. Spray connections with penetrating oil and let sit prior to removal.

Have a 99 suburban its been sitting for a year and had no problems but now the engine is missing changed plugs cap and rotor but same exact problem

If it's been sitting for a year with the same fuel, drop the tank and flush it and the fuel lines completely. Also take out the fuel pump and replace the fuel pump screen and don't forget to replace the fuel filter as well. Fuel WILL go bad sitting for that long.

I have a 1999 gmc sierra with (as of 30 days ago cat. converter, fuel pump and filter, cap and rotor) changed in garage. regular oil changes, tune ups as of 8 mths. it has lots of cranking power, but...

If i understand you right the truck has been sitting for two years. If it has been sitting that long without running or moving the gas has turned to varnish...I suggest that you drain and refill the fuel tank, and replace the fuel filter located on/in the frame rail on drivers side.

I wonder if my suburban 91 has any fuel filter before the fuel pump (between the fuel tank and pump) that would be changed sometimes in a while.

according to advance website your fuel pump is electric and inside the tank. the only pre-filter is thus the screen around the pump inlet. years of detritus can collect around them, but you are going to have to lower the tank and pull it out to see. it is 20 years old and a replacement would be in order anyhow if it has never been changed before.

I am buying a Jimmy that has been sitting for over a year. What would you recommend we do before driving it? (IE change oil, etc..)

Check all hoses (radiator, fuel, heater hoses, brake lines, filters, belt, etc). Make certain that you put in at least 5 gallons fresh fuel. Also, check the battery. If there was nothing wrong with vehicle (reason for sitting idle for over a year) then you should not have any problems.

85 GMC Suburban sitting for 18 years

Sounds like you have a handle on it dont start it til you get that old diesel out of the tank, I would definitly change the oil. The only thing about it sitting that long is the seal deterioating rust I would run it with some lucas oil stabilizer

My 1999 GMC Suburban won't start

It can be fuel pump, the only true way to know is to do a fuel pressure test, but if its been a year sense you last chg. the fuel filter its time to chg. it again.

I have a 91 suburban and it wont hold idle. I am waiting for and egr valve. if that fixes it i will let you know. I was told that they can have an internal vacuum leak therefore being difficult to detect.
