I have a 98 firebird been sitting up for 2 yrs. we just put a new engine in im getting fire to the coil packs, and i put a new crank sensor and im getting fire to the crank sen. but when i go to crank it...

coil pack module,underneath the coil packs,or you did not replace the ecm with the new motor,you need the computer that goes to that motor

No fire from coil- replace crank sensor, fuel pump relay , new spark plugs

If you have fire going into coil and not coming out than replace coil pack. They can become weak and will cause firing to be muted. Coil should read about 13ohms with an electrical tester when disengaged from the cars power supply set on 20+ohms. Anything less needs replacement.

If the crank sensor is open, it will not allow signal for coil pack.

Its a 98 and all the sensors should be changed by now.

My 1996 Toyota Camry just cut off on me while I was driving.now it will turn over but not crank.there is fire going to the coil but no fire coming out of the spark plug wires

if coil is good check signal wire from dist or crank sensor...no signal to tell coil to fire...no fire

Check that the engine immobiliser is working correctly because if it isn't it won't allow it to fire.

2000 pontaic montana wont spark

likely a bad crank sensor or bad ignition module, coil packs can go bad
to but not normally all three at the same time.if the coil packs look ok
then i would look at what tell it to fire witch is the crank sensor, the cam sensor should tell the injectors when to fire, but thats not to say they couldn't be linked in some vehicles needing singal from both for fuel
and fire to work. hope this helps

No fire in coil pack.

Was the timing chain damaged ?
Did you have spark from the coil before you replaced the other parts ?
Do you have battery voltage on the positive side of the coil with the key on and in crank mode ?
Is the coil wire not sparking, or are you not getting spark at the plugs ?
Is the distributor rotor turning when you crank the engine ?

Have a 97 Saturn SL that will not send fire to the spark plugs from the coil packs when fire is going into the coil pack. Have change the computer, crank sensor, and coil pack

there is an ignition module, which sits underneath the coils, has been known to go bad.

Changed coil pack that wasnt firing started fine

check the fire to the coil pack if it's present then check the pulse to the crank sensor

Sounds to me like a bad control module. The control module controls the order of which the coil pack fires. If that is bad you get no spark. Seems to me that it should have been your second option right after replacing the coil pack.

Did you do a spark test?
This could be a number of things, your crankshaft sensor, coils or ignition module.
check the coils

Remove the ignition coil(s).
Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance between the primary terminals on the underside of the coil. The resistance should be 0.50-0.90 ohms.
Check the resistance between the secondary terminals. It should be 5,000-10,000 ohms.
If the coil failed either test, replace the coil.
