My 1990 jaguar xj6 if I disconnect the fuel filer and turn the key on should fuel come out of the line?

WHAT MEANS FILER (FUEL FILLER CAP)? 33 years old.

no symptoms told at all, engine dead or stalls or engine weak or misfires.

  1. engine pass compression test over 150PSI? on all/? 33yo !
  2. spark good on all cylinders
  3. now we test fuel not first. for sure relic cars like this. 300k miles on it?

TO RESET ECM ON A 1988 XJ6 JAGUAR.YOU DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE FOR 30 SECONDS TO CLEAR CODE.THIS WONT DO ANY GOOD IF YOU HAVE A ECM TROUBLE CODE DONT FIX PROBLEM.CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL STAY ON, UNTIL YOU FIX FAULTY COMPONENT OR SENSOR.

Had a similar problem within the last year. Either your fuel pump is failing or your fuel filter is partially blocked. Change both and drive away.
