Brake peddle is low, - Cars & Trucks

Then you have a massive leak somewhere as the brake peddle should not go all the way to the floor without some low break fluid indication. I would check brakes at each wheel as something isn't right or your not seeing it. Have someone pump the pedal and look to see if after the wheel is removed that the brake actually tightens and loosens. Remember that 4 wheels means 4 brakes, but master brake cylinder (where you add brake fluid) could be bad.

same as any nother car. take off mastercylinder cap. get a helper set in the drivers seat. apply pressure to the brake peddle. with a box or tube wrench break the fluid *** on the top of the calliper/back of drum loose. foot pressure on peddle should push it to the floor -hold it on the floor! tighten the *** on the caliper/drum tight-ish. not over tight. then let peddle up off floor. pump till you get resistance/tighteness. hold pressure on peddle, loosen *** again and peddle will go to floor again tighten ***, lift up peddle pump for pressure. repeat untill all air is out of line/ or fluid runs out clear. never let the master cylinder get low on fluid. have plenty on hand. repeat for all 4 tires.

its your brake booster,thats the part that the master cylinder bolts to. it will cause your peddle to drop and cause stalling

That is a vacuum leak from the booster on the inside, For the solution the rotor have minimum thickness and the value cannot be exceeded even by ten percent. How is the rear brakes if they are shoes did you inspect and adjust them.Also front brakes pads brand form different manufaucture perform at different rate. A low end pad you get low end result,(the effects the coeffieciency of friction).Youll need to address that vacuum leak also,A situation like that does and will affect performance of the brake booster,

Check your brake fluid level . Need to see if it low . if so on dry payment fill the fluid and put the cap back on . then have someone start the car and pump the brake peddle as you are looking under it for leaks. If there is fluid leaking under the car the i would say its a brake line or brake hose problem . if there is no leak seen then i would suspect the master cylinder is at fault . the master has seals in side of it and if they wear they can by pass fluid which in turn would cause a peddle issue

Is the problem your brake pedal is to low There is an adjustment for the brake light switch at the top of the pedal that could affect pedal hight slightly But if down a 1/2 inch or so i would suspect some kind of a problem with the brake system it self how well do the brakes stop the vehicleand have you noticed more of a drop in the pedal over time?

Check brake fluid level could be low, if not low disconnect brake light switch at master cylinder sit on side of master if light goes off replace that switch if light stay on check parking brake switch at parking brake peddle.

it sounds to me your brake liht switch is bad or came out of adjustment look uner the edge of your dash at the top of our brake peddle there will be a box on a solid part your brake peddle will have a part that touches the brake switch push the switch toward the brake peddle see if the lights go out if not replace the switch. hope this helps.

under the brake peddle is a switch. Lift the brake peddle upwards and you will see that the brake light goes out [requires two people; one to hold the peddle up, other to view the brake lights]. Restrengthen the spring tension on the brake peddle.

Should the lights remain ON after you lift the brake peddle up, unplug one of the wires to the brake peddle switch. At this point, the brake lights should be off. This basically will determine whether your switch is shorted or is just a peddle pressing down on the switch due to a bad spring.

The brakelight activation switch on top of brake peddle had come loose,not allowing lights to come on and affecting circuit to 4wd selection switch. I fixed the brake peddle switch and it solved the problem.
