if it doesnt turn you have a worn out ignition cylinder, the only fix is to replace it, Code the ignition lock cylinder, if necessary
CAUTION:Perform the body control module (BCM) theft deterrent relearn procedure whenever you replace the ignition switch lock cylinder.

Try under the dash, attached to colum is a switch that the rod goes into from your ignition key switch, that may need to be adjusted tword your steering wheel just a touch, they go out of alignmnet from time to time

If it only happens when braking, then it is definately you brake system. Most likely you rotors and pads need replacement. If you can do car work, then this is not a difficult job, but requires some wrenches. The parts can be purchased a lot cheaper on-line. A shop will get you for $300-$800. I bought all my parts for my 2001 VW passat for $200 shipped to my door. Good Luck.

You have to have the key coded with the ignition switch at a lock smith,or the dealer.

After you replace the ignition switch turn the key to start the car and release leave the key were it stops after trying to start wait 10 minutes until security light goes out turn key to full off position then repeat the above procedure two more times for a total of three on the 3rd attempt to start car wait for light to go out then turn key to full off positoion wait 10 seconds then try to start car body control module should learn new pass code and the car should start.
