SOURCE: After Market radio install on a 2001 Passat

Metra makes a preamp harness that you can use if you have the partial Bose system. My A4 had that (where the front speakers were run off of the headunit with speaker-level feed, but the deck put a line level signal to a rear amp to power the speakers). This harness would let you use the aftermarket deck with your factory speakers, if you have the partial Bose system. Best bet is to do a Google search for "Metra 2001 Passat" or something like that and I'm sure it'll show up.

SOURCE: power windows not working on a 99 Passat

Hi,

The door panel comes off with a T-10 torx or a Hex (Allen) wrench that will fit and a large Philips Screw Driver.. Remove the Plastic cover on the inside Door handle and the screw or screw along the bottom of the door panel. Then remove the screws that hold the handle the the door. They are located behind the plastic plate you removed with a tiny screw driver earlier. Be careful not the mark up the cover whaytprying it up. It is best to pry from underneath. After this 4 screws are out . The Use of a clip tool is best for getting behind the panel to pop it off, screw driver will work. After all the clips are released. Pull the light at the bottom of the panel down and out. Disconnect it or push it back thought the hole it came from. Now you need a 10mm socket, or wrench to remove the 12 bolts that hold the metal plate to the door. Remove all the 10mm bolts, if the window has not already fallen in the door it should be released by removing the black 2" plugs. Then loosen the bolts that clamp the window with the arms. Do not loosen them all the way.Disconect all the wiring. The Door lock cable, can be a pain. I think it pulls down.Next remove the metal plate, that is the regulator. Reverse these steps again to install it.

thank you !!

2001 volkswagan passat V6 manuel, Battery will not stay charged, replaced battery and alternator, still dies. Mechanic says "body control Module out" continues small amount of power to dash to drain...

U can measure the amps drained with amp meater.Anything exceding small amounts (0.05!?)must point shortcircuited wires may not blew the fuses, just increase the consume, radio muted on,other consumers (trunk light ,lighter, door danger lamps and so on,etc)Must track the problem before body control module. Many alarms drain large amounts of energy (2-3 days get a older battery out).A back up wire to radio also drain power, blinking leds and others.

My remote trunk button works but the interior trunk button doesn't any more. Is there a fuse for it? Where would that be? All my fuses look good and I don't see anything labeled for trunk.

Just go under hood, open fuse box and replace the red 10 amp fuse. Its blown. Go in the junction box under the hood, not the one in the cab. If the diagram isnt legible, simply check the little fuses until you find the blown one. Its in the same box as all the relays and the bigger fuses. Theres a few smaller fuses in the junction box that are just like the ones in the cab. Find the blown one, replace and enjoy.

Light not working

I would go back and check the fuses again. Your owners manual should list the fuse that controls that circuit - it may be in the engine compartment instead of the interior of the car.
If you are sure the fuse is good and has voltage, the problem could be a burned wire in the harness.

I just bought a used 2001 VW Passat. I loaded the 6 cd changer in the trunk, and pushed the CD button in the interior audio system and it played just fine. I listened to the CD twice after driving and...

Hi
Its probably not really worth repairing such an old system.
I would replace it with something more modern with better sound and control.
CD s are kinda out these days when most of your music and nav are on your smart phone .
However, you could remove cd player, remove covers and using cotton buds and solvent, gently clean the pickups for the laser.
Its probably full of crud.
Good luck

Vw 2006 passat trunk won't close

this always happens to my 06 passat when its really cold, im talking 0 or lower. i try not to open the trunk in the winter if i can help it. Its annoying but in the summer i have no problems. I have herd of alot of other people having this problem, VW knows about it and dosnt think its a recall item for somereason, look for your fancy gas door to not open next, i know of 3 people that started having trunk problems and then the fuel door stopped working, not sure if it has anything to do with it or not. but It happend to me and now i have the auto fuel door disconnected from the inside of the trunk.
The trunk issue isnt anything big to worry about it seems intermittent. I found latches and there a little pricey thats why i just deal with it.

im having a similar problem with my VW passat but only with the sound. in your car somewhere there should be a 'convenience computer' or what runs all the electronics such as power windows and radio and so on. if that gets wet you will definitely have a problem with your power accessorizes in the car

2001 Audi A6 2.7t , my audi symphony radio locked out

You will need the code to get it working. You may need Audi for this. Never disconnect the battery, or the alarm with trip on. Since it is frozen, I would try and remove the fuse, and reinstall it to reset the stereo. Then try the code.
I got lucky in my 2001 VW passat, when the stereo code was needed, but then the next day it started working by itself.
