J.D. 110 Auto won't start. Good battery. Cables are in good condition. When I turn the key the lights do not come on and the hour display does not show. What should I check first for this problem?

I have checked the battery. I have checked the cables (hot to starter and ground all have tight clean connections). I have replaced old fuse. Didn't look bad but replaced it anyway.

Maybe the switch has a malfunction. I guess you would need to check for power in to the switch, then check for power out with key ON. Have a voltmeter or test light? The key should turn the ignition system on, so look for power at the ignition coil with key on. Assuming it is gas, not diesel. JD110-is that a small tractor?

97 Buick lesabre will turn over but won't start n security lights flashed whats the problem

If your security warning light is on and it's refusing to start it is most likely that the anti-theft system has been triggered. Go back to the basics first. Some of these will sound obvious. Is it the correct key? Is the battery in the key fob working, (Does it work the door locks)? Is the battery on the vehicle fully charged? Has the battery been disconnected recently?
If all of these are OK then there must be a more serious issue. All I can suggest is contacting a Good Auto Electrician and get him to scan the cars OBD2 system for trouble codes as clues to the problem. *NOTE* get quotes from a few Auto Electricians as the fees they charge can be very different.

2004 Saturn ion. Car won’t start. Battery seems to be good, cuz all dash lights come on. Car won’t crank.

Does the starter make a noise when you crank it? If not, first make sure you have 12+ volts in the battery and good battery connections. If the battery has less that 9 volts, then replace the battery. Try using a jumper box or a set of jumper cables from another vehicle to start the car. If you can see the starter, have someone strike it with a hammer while turning the key to the crank position. If it starts, replace the starter.

Automotive electrical problem

Daniel, If battery is known to be good, could be bad connections at battery, starter/solenoid, or ground on engine/frame, battery cables also could be bad with build up of corrosion internally. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Turn key and it buzzes....when jumping off tries to turn over but really slowly...good battery and new cables.

check your jumper cables for good connection or corrosion sounds like not getting enough power to start it also after starting have good battery and alternator tested under load which most auto stores offer for free

My 1993 Buick Park Avenue just Clicks once when you turn the key on starter won't engage the battery is fine

Sounds like a bad starter or a bad battery cable connection to me. If you are certain that tyour battery is in good condition and fully charged, your battery cables are clean and tight and are making good connection on BOTH ends, replace the starter.

My 2000 Chevy Impala won't turn over

1st, make sure that your car's battery is in good condition, if so, then check the battery cables out to make sure they are tight, and not corroded. if they are corroded with acid, you can clean them with a solution of water and baking soda, then rinse the cables off , and dry them off. you mentioned that your car won't turn over, do you mean not starting, or just won't try to start, either way, you can check out the start relay, located under the hood in a black box, on the drivers side.

My car wont start. When I turn the key it makes a clicking noise. The lights all work, but when I turn the key they go dim. Tried jump starting the car last night and it still won't start.

check the battery cables. depending on how old the cables are they may need changing. a good place to find replacements are local scrap yards. many sell auto parts. also if the cables are loose a good connection between the jump starter and battery will not be present. if neither of these are wrong you may need to replace the starter itself.

It wont crank over to start

Hi. well we have to start somewhere, turn on the lights, are they bright? checking battery condition.
Next, auto or manual?
auto, make sure shifter is in park. work it back and forth a couple times or try starting in the neutral position.

Manual trans? there should be a clutch safety switch. these are often located on the clutch pedal mounting mounting assembly.
Are the battery cables In good condition? terminals clean and tight?
did you try a jump start?
these are some things that might shed light on the problem.
