Depending entirely on what your UNREVEALED vehicle actually is, and it's year, make and model, you could have a defective throttle position sensor, or the camshaft could be out of time, or a defective timing belt or chain, or you could have a defective coil or coil pack, or even contaminated gasoline ... or bad plug wires!

01 Kia Spectra When I start it cold it stays high idle. Have to press the accelerator to bring down the idle When shift into gear it hesitates to go It feels like it wants push gas through but putters

Ok that to me sounds like you need to clean the throttle body it easy buy carburetor clean just srap a little inside the throttle body n clean it that will help you the problem is the trottle body gets dirty sticky and won't idle good n stall remember don't put to much. Just a few spats inside the when you put the hose back it might take a few minutes to start because of the amount also don't accelerat it to high when it start good luck

when was the last tune up done on it? have you checked the spark plugs and firing order to make sure it is correct?

My 97 intrepid will start up, but putter out within seconds

Map Sensor or Crank Sensor. If you have a code reader the map sensor should throw a code, the crank sensor most often will not. Both will cause the car to start, idle to around 1,000 R's and then die.

Van idles fine but when going the the road giving it gas it acts as if it isn't getting the proper gas ... it back fires....repleaced fuel filter and pump, crank and cam sensior

sounds like the timing is off. check the firing order to be sure your plug wires are on the correct positions on the coil packs. if that checks out, possibly a timing chain may need replaced. i hope this helps

2001 audi allroad puttering, then dying when give it gas.

Sounds like dirt made it's way to the fuel pick up from sitting on an angle. You can try removing the sender through the rear seat to detect a clog and or the fuel filter underneath. Honestly..... have it towed to reputable repair shop or dealer for evaluation.

1992 jeep cherokee sport 2 door 4.0 inline six. Jeep was running fine except when you went to start it it took two cranks sometimes three then would start. Went to start it the other day and it took alot...

Sounds more like a timing problem than an O2 Sensor. Distributor out of Sync would be my guess. It ran better at Higher idles because the timing belt/chain was tight from tension at low idle the timing was off which caused your problems. Now the belt is either broken or so loose the timing is out and the vehicle won't fire. If it has a Distributor cap remove it and watch the rotor. If it turns the belt is intact but Timing may still be off.

1999 JImmy after vehicle sits over 3 hours I start (not a problem to start) it will idle at 500 RMPs and start to putter and putter. If I hit the gas it will go to 3000 RPMS with no problem then once I...

Try cleaning the throttle body (throttle body cleanner ONLY). Uncover the TB (engine off) & inspect the butterfly by moving the throttle by hand, if the underside & down inside the TB has a bunch of carbon (black soot) that could hamper with the idle! Also, check the fuel pressure @ the rail, under 60 psi could cause bad idle. Air filter clean? Did you make SURE that the terminals under the spider injector wiring harness has NO pins bent over during connection?! Also could check the throttle possition sensor & the mass air flow sensor if need be.

Puttering when stopped

it could possibly be a sensor but i am almost positive it will tell you that your idle speed is too low. You must set your idle speed back to normal. Go to your throttle cable and there should be a screw (maybe two if you have cruise control) that you can move back and forth to control position of throttle spring. Once you have your RPM's set around 800 (or at smooth idle without sounding too high) then you have corrected your idle speed.
