Hi, my airbag light comes on in my 2004 X5 3.0d. When we reset the light it stays off for a couple of days & then it comes back on ? Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this fault. Many Thanks

You need to read the airbag code which will give you the solution instead of just resetting it. Common recurring problems are the occupancy seat sensor and the seat belt connector sensor.

I would think it wouldn pass if they see the light on. I would suggest taking it to the dealership and have them inspect your airbag system since it is a safety issue and unfortunately there is no quick fix for that. Usually the seat belt buckle goes bad or even an airbag sensor. I hope this helps!!
The airbag light on the dashboard comes for few reasons, either there is a bad connection or connection came loose but than the light would stay on at all times, if it comes periodically than I would look up to the owner's manual and also find the airbag check label inside the car as it might be faulty or in need of replacement. The danger is that if it is faulty it can blow up by itself or in case of accident (hope none happens) it will malfunction.
The airbag light means that a problem with the airbag has been detected and that there is an error code stored in the airbag control module. The code will tell you what is wrong with the airbag. The code can be read at the nearest Lexus dealer, you will be charged a fee of $80.
Sometimes the light can be reset by disconnecting battery for ten minutes. Disconnecting battery will also delete the error codes stored. If the light comes back when you connect back the battery, that means that the problem is still there, and that the airbag control module detected the problem immediately.
The airbag light being on means there is a problem with that system. You will have to pull the code to pin point the area of the system having the problem and either repair it or have it repaired. You cannot reset an Airbag light without correcting the problem within the system.
