I have a 2006 Mercury Mountaineer I recently had my transmission rebuilt Now my radio's touch screen does not work Only shows Mercury Symbol. hear it but can't change station. Now no sound .Help

You need to input the radio security code because the battery was disconnected. If you don't have it see the Ford dealer (about $100.00 charge) or go here www.radio-code.com

I have a 2004 Nissan Quest. First, the speakers started popping off, then radio wouldn't work anymore. We pulled the fuse under the hood and reinserted it. When it sparks radio will come back on....

if you are having radio issues where you have to mess with the fuse to make it work i would say it is the culprit for the battery draw, a lot of radios trigger the eject when power is reconnected for the memory wire, that is not a problem with the radio.
try unplugging the radio and see if that fixes the battery draw.

No windows, speedometer, tach, radio runs fine

This sounds like something was wired wrong, hope there is no computer damage, the first step is to locate the fuse boxes and check all fuses first then remove the radio and check wiring.

I see this all the time. the power for night dash lights that was used to light the lights inside old radio is used on new radio and is sending power through radio and out ground wires to modules and computers, the new radio does not use the light wire, so double check all wiring even remove connector from radio if it keeps blowing a fuse. start there good day

I can not get power on for my 2004 M3 radio.

Does it happen to say "CODE" ? Was battery recently disconnected or go dead? Ot's your theft deterrent radio and needs code to be unlocked. Check owners manual for small credit card size card, that has you code and enter it into your radio. If you don't have code, you're going to have to either have BMW or yourself pull radio and provide BMW the serial # off of radio.

Going on long trip for 3months, should I disconnect the battery on my 2004 545i?

Hi Cypher,

Good question, the answer is yes and no.

If you disconnect the battery, you can lose diagnostic codes, your radio may think it's stolen and lock itself, your clock will stop, etc.

If you leave it connected for three months, these items will drain the battery.

These items need very little power to run, but they do need power.

Leaving even a low amperage trickle charger on for three months isn't a great idea, that will kill the bat too.

You can set a charger up to a timer. Program it for 2 hours a night at 2 amps. That will keep it ready to go upon your return.

Best regards
Mike
