You created a open circuit by disconnecting the horn ! Try you tube !

The elements to a horn circuit in your vehicle are:

1. Steering wheel horn button;
2. Actuator wire in steering column;
3. Ground wire for steering column;
4. Horn relay; and
5. Horn.

yes you can go under the hood , wire the horn to the battery to check there .

This is probably caused by:

a loose door switch, or

a loose connection to a door switch, or

a defective (dirty / corroded) door switch.

There is a false signal being sent that a door is open / ajar.

he is pushing the button a second time which is unnecessary.
it will cause damage to the lock actuators. yours will do it if you push the lock button a second time, but i do not recommend as stated above.

put key in door lock and cycle it fully in both directions should shut it off.
