SOURCE: Timing chain or belt for a 2004 Honda Accord

It depends, 4cyl. is a chain, the 6cyl. is a belt and it is an interference engine. I have not done this one yet, but Hondas are never that easy.

SOURCE: Timing belt on Accord 2004 v6 models

2003 and up Honda Accord with 4 cylinder engines do indeed have a chain and the V6 has a belt which must be replaced at 110,000 miles. Why? Ask Honda, they designed the engines.

SOURCE: has a 2004-2006 honda accord 2.2 diesel, timing belt or chain?

Belt is better replace either about every 100.000 or you'll destroy the engine when it goes out

Belt is Better because it's easier to replace, therefore much cheaper

Chain is inside and in the oil bath so harder= more expensive

By the way. dealer says replace every 60K . 100K is a MAXIMUM

WHEN DOES THE TIMING BELT FOR A 2004 HONDA ACCORD GET REPLACED?

It depends on the engine. The 4 cylinder engine uses a timing chain, and is generally replaced every 150,000 miles (Honda doesn't give a specific interval) with the water pump (driven off of the timing chain) and timing gears. On the V6 engine, you have a regular rubber/steel belt, and it is supposed to be replaced every 105,000 miles, according to Honda. The water pump is driven off the belt as well, and should be inspected or replaced. (I recommend replacing the water pump anyway, just to save yourself any future trouble)

At what mileage do you replace the timing belt on a 2004 accord 4cyl

Are you sure you have a timing belt on 2004. Most new cars have timing chaines. I will check for you or just go to autozone or napa. they can tell you if you have a chaine or belt. In most car having timing belt., it can be changed around 120-140 k

2004 Mitsubishi Montero Sport LS 65,000Miles. My belts seem to make a lot of annoying, loud sound. Especially after it rains. Is this a timing belt/chain issue or one of the other belts?

I have a 98 Montero Sport, whenever my belt sqeaks I check the tension and usually thats the problem. Tighten them accordingly and it should solve it. As for the timing belt, mine is a belt not chain. First time I had it changed was at 100,000 miles and the dealrship said I was cutting it close ><
