The power steering fuse is part of the ignition fuse, it uses power from ignition to engage power relay system on steering column next to the electric powersteering motor. Check the two wire port for ground and power with vehicle running. Mostly all saturns with electric power steering are all under a safety recall, with free replacement.

there is a recall on some certain colbalts for the power steering I have the odd issue with it and iam waiting for the recall for my 2005 5speed supercharged chev colbalt . power steering is completely electronic im sure you know?? little bit more of a pain wait for your recall notice for this . you should have had one already for the ignition switch staying in the "run position.?? The motor an EPS - electric power steering module have to be replaced together . The module needs to be programmed , Dealer ! Could be a steering angle sensor also . Could have DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's stored .
The electric power steering (EPS) system reduces the amount of effort needed to steer the vehicle. The system uses the body control module (BCM), power steering control module (PSCM), torque sensor, discrete battery voltage supply circuit, EPS motor, serial data bus, and the instrument panel cluster (IPC) message center to perform the system functions. The PSCM, torque sensor, not the EPS motor are serviced separately from each other or from the steering column. Any EPS components diagnosed to be malfunctioning requires replacement of the steering column assembly, also known as the EPS assembly.

Instead of a power steering pump, the Cobalt uses an electrical steeering assist motor that is located on the rack and pinion steering assembly, This is subject to a just announced recall.

I have a 2007 Chevy Cobalt LS Coupe and have recieved two recall letters on the power steering.

some G6 do not have power streeing pumps
they have ELECTRIC POWER STEERING
all depends on the engine
2.2 4cylinder have electric
3.5V6 can have one or the other
if you have a V6 then you will see the power steering cap through the engine cover on the right side if it has hydralic power steering

the power steering in my 2005 Saturn ION works sometimes and sometimes not. More not. How can i fix this problem?
