My 1998 passport turns over but will not start at all

Drain and fill is about 5 and 1/2 quarts. Start with 4 and 1/2. Start it and get to operate temperature. Shut it off and check the fluid. Add till between the v marks.

firstly have a load test done on the battery as an attempt to turn over indicates a faulty battery. Next as it is an EFI engine any pumping of the accelerator only adds to your frustration as it does nothing to the starting ability. What you need to do is have the fault codes read and fix what shows up as faulty

Check:
- Short circuit in wiring.
- Ignition wire shorted to ground.
- Ignition relay stuck closed.
- Ignition switch.

you need to take it to a specific trans repair shop so they can diagnose it. i think your shift solenoids are starting to malfunction. if it helps you can try and replace the fluids and the trans filter that may help and or fix the problem

What fuse? Is it an ignition fuse? You could go to autozone.com and get free wire digrams. All you need to do is register which is also free. The diagram may show the fuse panel and you can trace what fuse is blowing to what it powers.

Vehicles, starting in 1994, and a few late 93 GM vehicles to the current use R-134A. It can be bought at you local parts store. So you also have R-134A.

Get into your passport and unlock all doors. Leave drivers door open. Put key into ignition. Turn to ON (not start), then OFF three times within 5 seconds. Close and open the drivers door twice. Turn key to ON then OFF 5 times within 5 seconds. Close then open the drivers door. Press either the lock or unlock button on the remote. Doors will lock then unlock. Press the button again. Doors will lock then unlock again. Close door to finish programming. If it doesnt work, try it again but turn the key faster. You have to do it all pretty quick, but I had it done on the second try.
