as long as nothing is stuck in track and you hear no noise when using switches, look for broken wire at connector or in harness. ck fuse first of course, if blown, something may be stuck in track causing it to stop and blowing fuse

Drivers side power seat issue

Power Seats System Description and Operation
Power Seat System Operation
There are 2 options of power seat systems available in full size trucks. The 6 way driver and passenger power seats, and 8 way driver and passenger power seats with driver memory. For the driver memory seat operation refer to Memory Seats Description and Operation . Power seats without memory are completely controlled through the power seat switch. Battery voltage is supplied to the power seat switch through the power seat circuit breaker. While the seat adjuster switches are in an inactive state the switch contacts are closed to the power seat switch ground circuit. When a power seat switch is pressed to an active state the switch contact is closed to the battery voltage supply circuit. Each seat adjuster motor is controlled by the power seat switch through 2 motor control circuits. The seat adjuster motors are bidirectional and the direction of adjuster motor rotation is determined by which of the adjuster motor control circuits is switched to battery voltage while the other remains grounded.

2008 Ford Edge heated Seat will not turn off. It does not matter which position the on off button is in, the seat and back heat stays on

Heated Seats
This system allows independent seat electrical heating of each front seat on demand.
The components of the system are:
  • the seat heater mats located on the seat cushion and backrest.
  • the heated seat module located on the passenger power seat track and cushion frame on manual seat track.
  • the heated seat switches, located on the electronic automatic temperature control (EATC) module.
  • temperature sensors, located in the seat cushion heater mats.
A new heater mat will come assembled on a new foam pad.
Climate Controlled Seats
The climate control seat system is able to heat and cool the front seats. Each climate controlled seat is operated by push-buttons on the electronic automatic temperature control (EATC) module located on the instrument panel. Each front seat temperature is then monitored and controlled by the climate control seat module (CCSM) located on the front passenger seat track.
The climate controlled seat system contains the following components:
  • EATC module
  • CCSM
  • Thermo-electric device (TED) and blower assembly within each front seat cushion and backrest
  • Air filter (attached to each TED and blower assembly)
  • Cushion TED adapter attached to the cushion frame
  • Cushion and backrest manifolds
  • Cushion and backrest foam pads
  • Cushion and backrest trim covers
  • Seats
    Front Seats
NOTE: The high speed controller area network (HS-CAN) circuits that pass through the passenger seat harness are part of the main HS-CAN LOOP. If the front passenger seat-to-floor connectors are disconnected, a NO START condition will result.
NOTE: The medium speed controller area network (MS-CAN) circuits that pass through the driver seat harness are part of the main MS-CAN LOOP. If the front driver seat-to-floor connectors are disconnected, various MS-CAN modules will not be able to communicate.
The front seats can be equipped with the following systems:
    • Two-way manual seat track (passenger only)
    • Four-way manual seat track (driver only)
    • Six-way power seat track
    • Manual recline
    • Power recline
    • Backrest, without fold flat
    • Backrest with fold flat (optional, passenger only)
    • Heated seats
    • Heated/cooled climate controlled seats
    • Memory driver seat
    • Manual lumbar (driver only)
    • Power lumbar
    • Adjustable head restraints
    • Seat side air bags (standard)
    • Occupant classification sensor (OCS) system on passenger seat

Driver Seat Module - Memory Seat
The power driver seat, power outside rear view mirrors and power adjustable pedals are controlled by the driver seat module (DSM) only when the vehicle is equipped with the programmable/recall memory option. The DSM is located on the driver seat track.
This system allows automatic positioning of the driver seat to 2 programmable positions.
    • A power driver seat position can be stored at any time. The driver must move the seat to the desired position using the driver seat switch assembly. The driver must then depress the memory SET switch which activates the memory SET switch light emitting diode (LED). Within 5 seconds (before the LED goes out), the driver must select a memory position. Memory 1 is selected by depressing memory switch 1. Memory 2 is selected by depressing memory switch 2.
    • If no memory switch input is received within the 5-second time limit, the operation is aborted and the memory seat position switch (set switch) LED is turned OFF. This also occurs if one of the following inputs is received during the 5-second programming limit:
      • Driver seat control switch
      • Memory seat position switch (set switch)
      • Power adjustable pedal switch
A programmed seat position can only be recalled when the transmission selector is in PARK or NEUTRAL with the ignition switch in the RUN position. A position may be programmed at any time.
  • Principles of Operation
Driver and Passenger Power Seats Without Memory
The driver and front passenger power seat motors are hardwired to the seat control switches on each respective seat. The circuits are normally at ground through the seat control switch. Each individual seat track, recliner (if equipped) and lumbar (if equipped) motor circuit is switched to power when the specific adjustment position is selected.

    Power Driver Seat With Memory
The driver power seat is controlled by the driver seat module (DSM), if equipped. The memory driver seat feature allows the driver to program a personalized seat position that can be recalled using the memory switch or a remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter. There are 2 memory settings possible. The outside rear view mirror positions are also stored and recalled with the power driver seat positions.
The DSM is located underneath the driver seat cushion frame. The DSM does not require calibration to the driver seat track.
The driver seat control switch provides voltage to the DSM when activated. The NEUTRAL position of each driver seat control switch position is a ground state through the seat control switch contacts. A voltage input causes the DSM to power the appropriate motor until the input is removed. Ground is the normal state of the motor circuits through the DSM and is not switched to control the motors. The DSM internally switches the appropriate circuit from ground to power for operating the motors.
As the seat is adjusted, the DSM constantly monitors the motor position sensors to record the current seat position. The DSM will remove power from the motor upon termination of the seat control switch input or if the DSM does not see movement from the motor by monitoring the position sensor.
The DSM communicates diagnostic trouble code (DTC) and other information using the MS-CAN communication bus. It should be noted for diagnostics that because CAN bus communication is more robust and reliable than other methods, it may be possible to have limited module communication with one of the CAN bus circuits disconnected or shorted to ground. Refer to Section 418-00 for information concerning MS-CAN bus communication.
Do you have memory or not ?

Taking the vehicle to a qualified repair shop an having a diagnostic scan of the seat module's done could save time an money , by not replacing parts needlessly .

My power seats and only the power windows on right side quit working on my 2007 silverado classic lt1500 I replaced the circuit breakers already and it did not fix the problem

Does you truck have Memory Seats ? There are 2 options of power seat systems available in full size trucks. The first is 6 way driver and passenger power seats without memory. The second is an 8-way driver seat plus 4-way lumbar with memory, heat and optional cool function.
If you replaced the circuit breaker , did you check for B+ voltage at the switch ? If you have memory seats there is a control module that is in the mix.
For the power windows same thing here ,the BCM - body control module is involved .A factory Tech 2 scan tool is still the best tool to use ,checking data parameters .
The switch for the front passenger power window has 2 positions UP and DOWN, and it's position is a direct input into the PDS. Upon receiving a request for power window operation (switch activation), the PDS supplies voltage to the power window motor right front up or down circuit and grounds the opposite and the power window motor runs to drive the window UP or DOWN.
The front passenger power window can also be operated from the driver master control. The front passenger window switch on the driver master control has 2 positions UP and DOWN and it's position is a direct input into the DDS. Upon receiving a request for front passenger power window operation, the DDS transmits a GMLAN message indicating the changed switch position. When the PDS receives this message, the PDS supplies voltage to the power window motor right front up or down circuit and grounds the opposite and the power window motor runs to move the window UP or DOWN.
GMLAN - is a data bus communication network that vehicle modules talk together on.
Rear Passenger Power Window Operation (RPO A31/AN3/DL3)
The body control module (BCM) monitors the window UP/DOWN command from the DDS. When the rear window UP or DOWN command is received, the BCM sends a signal to the appropriate rear window switch. The rear window switches continuously monitor the up and down signal circuits, if no function is being commanded, the signal voltage is at approximately B+ voltage. If the UP or DOWN function is commanded, the BCM signal voltage drops approximately 5 volts and the appropriate rear window switch will then command the window in the UP or DOWN direction.

If it has memory seat's there is a control module !
Battery voltage is supplied to the driver seat module through a 25 A circuit breaker. The driver seat module supplies the seat adjuster switch assembly with a battery positive reference voltage. While the seat adjuster switches are in an inactive state the switch contacts are closed to the adjuster switch common circuit.
Both right side windows have a seperate power supply from the left side window's ,has RT DOORS circuit breaker CB1 - 25amp. location left instrument panel fuse block . Circuit breaker's very rarely fail .Do the door lock's work on that side of the vehicle ? The windows won't work with their own switche's ?
The DDS controls the passenger window through a GMLAN message to the PDS. When a power window switch is activated in the up or down positions the PDS supplies power and ground to the window motor control circuits to drive the window motor in the required direction. Prior to activating a power window motor the PDS will supply the control circuit with a low current bias voltage in order to determine that a short to ground condition does not exist, and during window motor operation the PDS continues to monitor the motor current to verify proper window motor operation. (Scan tool support is available for this system)
Check PDM fuse 4 15 amp ,this supply's B+ voltage to the DOORLOCK/WINDOW switch passenger side . Check for broken wires inside the flex boot from the body to the passenger door .

The first place to start would be to have the dealer or someother qualified repair shop , that has a professional scan tool read DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes in the driver seat module ! The seat adjuster motors are controlled by the driver seat module through the adjuster motor control circuits. Memory Seat System Components
The memory seat system consists of the following components:
• Power seat switch assembly
• Memory recall switch assembly
• Horizontal adjuster motor
• Front vertical adjuster motor
• Rear vertical adjuster motor
• Recline adjuster motor
• Driver seat module
• Driver door module
• SEAT 30A circuit breaker
Memory Seat System Description
Battery voltage is supplied to the driver seat module through the power seat circuit breaker. The driver seat module supplies the seat adjuster switch assembly with a battery positive reference voltage. While the seat adjuster switches are in an inactive state the switch contacts are closed to the adjuster switch ground circuit. When a seat adjuster switch is pressed to an active state the switch contact is closed to the reference voltage circuit. Battery voltage on a switch signal circuit indicates to the driver seat module the switch status is active. Each seat adjuster motor is controlled by the driver seat module through 2 motor control circuits. While the seat adjuster motors are in an inactive state the motor control circuits are closed to ground circuit contacts within the driver seat module. The driver seat module operates the seat adjuster motors by switching one of a motor's control circuits to battery voltage. The seat adjuster motors are bidirectional and the direction of adjuster motor rotation is determined by which of the adjuster motor control circuits is switched to battery voltage while the other remains grounded.

Memory Set/Recall Operation
The seat adjuster motors are equipped with internal position sensors. The adjuster motor position sensors are monitored by the driver seat module and are used to determine the seat position when storing or recalling memory settings. The horizontal, front vertical, and rear vertical adjuster motors use hall effect type position sensors. The hall effect position sensors are supplied with battery positive reference and ground circuits from the driver seat module. The position sensor signal circuits are supplied battery positive voltage through a resistor them monitored within the driver seat module. During adjuster motor operation the hall effect position sensor provides a single pulse for every revolution of the adjuster motor shaft. The driver seat module counts the pulses from the position sensor signal circuits to determine the adjuster motor positions when storing or recalling memory seat position settings. The recline adjuster motor is equipped with a potentiometer type position sensor. The recline motor position sensor is supplied with it's own 5-volt reference ground circuits from the driver seat module. The recline position sensor signal circuit is referenced from ground within the driver seat module. The signal voltage monitored by the driver seat module ranges from 0.39 - 4.58 volts and is determined by the wiper location on the resistor within the recline motor position sensor. The recline motor position sensor signal circuit voltage level is used by the driver seat module to determine the seat recline position when storing or recalling memory seat position settings.
The memory recall switch assembly on the driver's door provides inputs to the driver door module. Battery voltage is supplied to the memory

Power driver's seat only travels forward and backward on one side of seat. Other side works fine. Seat does travel up and down properly.

Power seat movement is controlled by numerous small motors underneath the seat.

Front and back movement is often actuated through a motor on one side that connect to a rod (with some type of gear on the end of it) that runs to the other side. This rod can get out of position, or possibly something can go wrong in the gear.

You'll likely have to remove the seat to diagnose the problem.

The seat adjuster switches are inputs to the driver and passenger seat modules. The seat modules supply the adjuster switch assemblies with a battery positive switch supply circuit and monitor the switch signal circuits. In an inactive state the switch signal circuits are floating and when a switch is pressed the signal circuit is closed to the switch power circuit within the adjuster switch assembly. When battery voltage is present on the switch signal circuit the seat module determines the switch status to be active.
