The key must be replaced with a genuine Hyundai key then programed, the key has a computer that talks to the lock, sure it will turn over but will not start,

Testimonial: "But the original keys have no chip. It has a solid handle"

2006 Hyundai Sonata V6 140k occasionally will not start, now struggles to start.

I would start by testing the vehicles main Earth cables under the bonnet. Could be high resistance caused by failing cable. Jon

How do I replace the starter in a 2000 hyundai sonata v6?

Access to the starter is from under the vehicle.... probaly on the back towards firewall and must be over exhaust (looking up from under it) and attached to transmission. REMEMBER: disconnect battery negative post cable 1st! If you want to be certain it is starter first either while it's still connected to battery, go under and check if you have constant 12v on main terminal and switch terminal should have 12v ONLY when key is "cranking"... hold key long enough to test for current. If all is as should be, continue to remove starter after disconnecting battery. Bench check both old (to be sure its bad) and new (so you don't install a defective one).

First check your fuel pressure it should be 48-55 psi with key on and engine off.Sounds like you could have a weak fuel pump or clogged fuel filter.

My hyundai 1.6 petrol matrix has intermittant

answer from the uk.you will only have a problem showing up if the engine management system records a fault within that system, so, the only solution is, if you have remote locking, change the batteries and use to unlock car not using the key.or if no remotes, change keys on a regular basis.(they are coded to the car) do not use grey (service key) only 2 x black keys supplied with car....check handbook re keys....

Hyundai Coupe 2.7 V6 auto 2002 I have a problem starting my coupe. This is an intermittent problem and has no pattern. so frustrating :( She will turn over but will not start, it take 2-5 times of key...

Main fuel line from tank to fuel pump, Sounds like the pump is sucking the fuel and air is getting in also, only when the fuel system is pressurised and the return line is sending fuel back to the tank will the air pressure in the tank be higher than the outside atmosphere and then air will no longer be sucked into the system - if this is true there will be a fuel leak - maybe only a little - to find if there is a leak, start the car on level ground, turn off the engine and restart it several times, then move the car back and check on the ground for any fuel - also check under the bonnet and sniff around for any strong petrol smells - there will probably be a fuel pipe damp with petrol - tell me what you find - if it is or isn't leaking I can give you the next steps to identifying the problem -
