Yes it means the clutch pack or seal is out and has to come out and apart you can buy a rebuild kit for $150.00 thats all seals clutches and bands and you would need help in order to rebuild it, the rebuilding would take 8 hours for a trained mechanic and 2.5 to 3 hours to get it out and back in again.If you need the information on where to buy parts and have them shipped I can help you out on that part. yo will need some inner and outter snap ring plyers to do it. and if you let it go to long you will damage the output shaft and that gets real epensive. was the fluid brown and smelled like onions? This is a failure of the "remote function actuation module". It is located under the rear deck next to the right rear speaker. The rear seat must be removed to access it along with removing the rear deck. It controls the trunk release, door locks, dome light, and reverse light. My remote trunk release stopped working along with the relase button on the dash along with the reverse lights failing at the same time. The module is over $150 so I would try to find a way to rewire the lights to work without the module.

My 92 chevy lumina makes a strange knocking sound it will turn over every time but the sound is loud at frist then becomes a lil lighter when it idels and the extash comes out the tail pipe in short...

it the lifter inside the engine..most lumina have those problem...my tip is..try to 20-40 oil in it with a motor honey if you can find one...it will make the sound go away..since you have a 92...good luck

40-45 LBS, At least that's what the book says and thats what my 92 lumina 3.1 is at.
