You must turn the car on after alarm goes off. Door locking and unlocking dont work after the alarm goes off. Its like you break a window to get in anyone can lock or unlock a door thats why its tied to the ignition.

stick the key in the drivers door and turn it to the left and right in different patterns until it turns off. it works every time with me but i cant find the exact pattern
it's a simple problem because the alarm set button on the fob is where you grip to start the car. start the car, arm the alarm! just hold the front and back of fob not sides when turning it.
