Wrench light and traction lights are on
SOURCE: 2005 ford taurus. Remote entry wont work theft light keeps blinking when key is engaged
HI, I'm reading your problem,
Let me explain something about your car.
2005 Ford Taurus, The key on that car has Chip inside of the key and receiver on the ignition switch,
Check if the key you are trying to use is Black and has a plastic head.
If not you need a key with that characteristics.
But if you have the right key, Remenber if you had drop on the floor, or hit with something,
Because some times they come damaged, with insignificat thins.
Remenber if you left the key close to a magnets like speakers.
If nothing aply at your case, you need to call a place Aloha Smith, they have the computer to program or reprogarm your key. IF not you can't start your car.
OK.. I hope this information work for you.
Thank's for submit yous question on fixya.com

I took STEGG's advise and I checked the exciter rings on the axles and I found that one was cracked and loose on the passenger side rear axel. The truck went to ford and because of the information I had about the exciter ring the repair was compleated in two hours and they told me that they could only replace the exciter ring insted of the whole axel. Total Cost for repair.$296.00.
Thank You so much for the info STEGG.

You need to have the transmission serviced. The wrench indicates that the fluid in your transmission is out of spec or you have an out of spec pressure condition.

Operationally vacuum holds the IWE ( Integrated Wheel Ends ) out, and once vac is removed the spring engages the IWE.
Lift and support the front of the truck so the front wheels are off
the ground ( take safety precautions, chock wheels, jack stands, etc )
Key on, engage 4x4 and try to turn the front drive shaft.
If it turns it is a problem with the transfer case.
If it doesn't it is a front axle engagement problem.
- If the front drive shaft does not turn :
Shut
of the truck ( still jacked up, and supported ) remove the vac lines
from the IWE. The spring should push the gears in, without the vac line
on.
Check the vent line ( tube that is routed into the engine compartment with nothing attached to it ), for blockages.
If the vent line is clear, and with the vac lines off the IWE should be engaged ( both front wheels locked ).
If
they lock, the problem is with the IWE solenoid not shutting off vacuum
to the IWEs. There is a TSB on the 2004-2006 IWE solenoids, a newer
revision has been made, and used from 2007 and newer MYs.
Here is a block diagram of the IWE system
