What other make of 4 cylinder engine can replace a 1999 Kia Sportage engine ? a Suzuki or another Kia 4 cylinder from a optima ?

Got a cutting torch and welder ... you can put in anything you want, so long as the bolt holes line up. Good luck getting it through inspection if you are in the USA.

I have a Kia Sportage 2006 Lx 2.7l sometimes when try to park thr engine turns off , but when I restart the engine ITS running normally. I note that the rpm fluctuate sometimes.

basicaly you need to check your engine performace is it newly chance oil and tune-up???
when making a reverse your engine gets the load but if your rpm is flactuating the engine will stalled so make sure the engine is in good conditon.

Where is the oil filter located on a 2006 Kia Optima Lx?

sgutowski283: the LX had 2 different engines which could have been in you car. However, KIA has engineered their engines to where the oil filter is located at the very front of the engine below the front crank pulley on both the 4 and 6 cylinder engines.
STAY AWAY FROM CHEAP OIL AND CHEAP OIL FILTERS! You engine will last for 200,000 miles easily, if taken care of.
Good luck, Give the folks at FIXYA some feed back if your happy with my assistance.
Thanks.
