SOURCE: removal of front bumper

The bumper is secured using four 13mm nuts.

a) Open the bonnet and look for one 13mm nut on the lower inside of each headlight.
b) Remove the towing eye covers on the lower section of the bumper and you will find one 13mm nut in each.

Hope this helps.

How to tell whether a bumper is a new one

Have your insurance company come to where your car is
& look it over & compare the repair to the work that the insurance
company wanted done.

Ask a lawyer how to proceed, would be next

I would guess the body shop cut corners or you didn't go to
the top two shops they recommend going to

How do I get Budget insurance to sort out a claim

I recommend getting the adjusters name and contact info. that is handling the claim. That person, the adjuster, is who decides liability.

What is a "left closing plate" and is it something I could replace myself?

If you got an itemized bill, check to see how much they are charging you for the replacement of the closing plate.
From experience, the labor for the paint of a bumper is what costs most.
When a bumper is replaced, in order to have the front end match the new paint on the new bumper, they have to blend the hood and fender covers, or you will notice the difference in paint color with the bumper.
Best is to ask body shop to explain the estimate in more detail. I also recommend that you have your auto insurance company pay for the repair, minus your deductible. This is why you have insurance.

I have a 1997 nissan pathfinder it was involved in an acccident just front right fender damage and grill. car ran great because always kept up on maintenaince . I had a dealership body shop fix the fender....

Hello, First, you can try to call your Insurance company. Be sure to explain up front that your vehicle was tied up for many months since the accident and that the completion date of the repair is the "Returned to Service date".

This should help clear the way for a "Hidden" damage claim and also point out to the Insurance company that the Repair shop worked on the part immediately in front of the leak. Now I suspect the removal of the Vibration damper (which sometimes must be pried off) is the root cause of the oil leak.

If someone poked a screwdriver around the front engine seal to remove the Vibration Damper it could easily ruin the front oil seal by the crankshaft. The metal is not a hard metal and the casing could also be cracked by improper removal of the Vibration Damper.
They should have used a pulley puller for this task.

In either matter, if the oil runs out it can smoke the bearings, and actually the entire engine. (Lifters, Valve train, Camshaft, etc)

Your Insurance adjuster is your best friend for this. It is his job to make sure that the Repairs are complete. If the vehicle is damaged in the Repair process, then the Insurance company and Repair facility should fight this out with you being a non-combative interested third party.

Only after you fail to get satisfaction, should you need a Lawyer. Just find out what the Statute of Limitations is in your State to file a claim. The Lawyer should know who is to be sued and you need to have the long form of your Insurance Policy handy so he/she can tell if you agreed to Arbitration when signing the Insurance Policy.

I hate to see anyone cheated, and the Repair shop has caused more damage to the engine than he received to repair the Vehicle body. So that is why the Repair shop would be reluctant to help. But the Repair shop could stand to be banned from fixing your Insurers' future claims. Those economics can be harsh if you are insured with a Major insurer. Good Luck on this and I hope you find my Solution helpful.

Scratched front bumber

Get it fixed by the other parties insurers. It will and should not cost you a cent. Failing that there are several non insured loss recoverers out there. Just search online.

Replacing the front lights on a Nissan Almera.

I needed my headlight bulb changed. The repair shop quoted $125. Their repair manual said the front bumper had to be removed to access the light. But they found a work-around: by removing the battery, they were able to get at the light and replace the bulb. Only cost me $46 to replace my $5 bulb!

Dodge ram fuel pump, Caused by frontal Accident?

this of course could have bent the fuel pump bracket inside the tank or damaged the wiring that supplies it power, stand by your guns, if it worked before the accident then it is accident related, I have had this kind of argument with a few insurance companies, and they always say no until u really pour it on, ask to speak to a supervisor, forget the little claims agent go over his head, it works, just be persistant..
