SOURCE: my 2000 ford explorer turns over but wont start

yes the fuel pump is running, you know because when you put the key up and ready to start you can hear it. I know just what you are talking about I have had that same problem. It is about a $4,00 part should not be more then $10.00. So open the hood and then go to the fuse box you will want to change the fuel pump relay that is in the middle of power point and pcm power relay. Also there is another that has to do with the fuel and that is called fuel system this part is located on the right side of the fuse box and the other is on the left.
I hope that you have every thing work out for you please let me know what happens I hope it works out well.

are you getting any spark at the coil???? If so, then it might be your pick-up coil in the distributor. If no spark at coil. try new coil.

SOURCE: getting fuel wont start

If you can, have the computer scanned for active codes. Always check for fuel and spark. with fuel injection it isnt enough to know that the pump is running you need over 35 psi, line pressure. Let us know.

2000 ford 4.0 explorer cranks but fails to start. It acts like it starts after sitting all night but then only cranks, what is wrong?

Check for spark to the sparkplug. Try a shot of starting fluid as having gas pumping and having the fuel injectors opening are 2 different things. If you have spark, then the fuel injectors may not be working. Quick diagnosis is to use starting fluid and see if engine tries to run. This indicates problem is not lack of spark but lack of fuel getting into cylinders.

2000 explorer won't start cranks OK, drove it to the store with no problems got back in won't turn over to start.

Try some starting fluid, if it wants to run then you need to check the Inertia switch. The location of this switch is behind the passengers foot kickpanel.

There is a Reset button that you push and it will reconnect the fuelpump. Please rate my info. You can try the Reset without testing with starting fluid but the fluid verifies fuel starvation as the problem.

For a 2000 ford explorer gear shift won't lock which is causing car to not start

Do you mean you can't get it into park ?
Could be the lock solenoid blocking it. Or a problem with the linkage going to the transmission.

Car stalls right after starting

check all vacuum lines and also check to see if there is any leaks around the intake manifold and check the fuel pressure and check for any loose or damaged wires to the coil packs and the alternator
