Can I bypass my ac pump in my 2001 Oldsmobile intrigue with a different size belt?

Sure , it can be done if you know the exact length of the belt you need. I would think the biggest problem would be getting the belt on so everything turns in the right direction.

Shouldn't be any(engine wise). You will just be cold in the winter time. Plus your windshield won't deice.

You can go to any auto parts store, and tell them you need a belt for your car without a/c. The shorter belt will drive everything but the a/c. This will by pass the a/c. God-Bless! Just tell them you want to bypass a/c.

Laurie, why bypass the compressor? - even if it is frozen, as long as the AC clutch is not activated there will not be an issue. To be safe just disconnect the wire powering the AC clutch.
