SOURCE: 2005 Ford Freestyle compressor went bad, same mileage

Get an estimate from a Ford dealer. Your problem may not take all the parts that Goodyear wants to put in. The dealer has recall info and may work with you to keep a Ford customer. You say your compressor went bad, but that may be the result of a problem and not the cause.
You can also try independent shops rather than franchises. But you may not know of any. Sometimes I ask at Police stations if I need help for reliable service places.

SOURCE: cam position sensor broke

ok easy fix. this is common on ALL ford w this style cam sensor,3.0 eats them for lunch. the sensor base has bushings like a real distributor, they get wore and fail. you can get new from ford, or reman at auto parts about 100 bucks. they come w the sensor installed but as with either, you need the allginment tool, looks like a little hockey puck, that only come from ford to set up or check engine light wont shut off. it will run without this but poorly. if you need more advice just post a comment to this and ill do my best to advise you

SOURCE: do I need to change transmission fluid on my 2005 ford freestyle

The high pressure filter and fluid are supposed to be changed at 60k intervals. Ford has a very specific oil for this transmission and the service fee will be $300 to $450 - mine was around $420.

No other car place will touch the CVS transmission in a Ford Freestyle and most Ford dealerships are clueless on thier maintenance and repairs. On most issues that crop up the first thing they want to do is swap it out - for $4000+.

Parked my 2005 ford freestyle and went to bed. next morning it would turn over but not start. 1/2 tank of gas. that was Tuesday. where is the stem like fixture on the line to check pressure? and what else...

The stem like fixture is called a schreader valve and it looks like a car tire air stem. It's on the fuel rail. So from your injectors trace back to the main line then follow that back until you fine the valve. Most fuel pump are good for around 80k - 100k before they fail. I would press the valve and see if you have fuel come out first. Insert key in ign. turn to on position (Wear safety goggles) then press valve. If gas shoots out It's probably not you pump. If it doesn't have gas come out then I'd check the fuse center under the hood and check the fuel pump replay fuse to see if it's good. Check the fuel pressure regulator also and check to make sure you have spark going to your plugs. Maybe your CPS (Cam or crank position sensor) went out.

I have a 2005 ford freestyle the ac is fully charged the rear works great the front passenger side is ok but the drivers side is warm about 20 degrees difference between the drivers side an passenger

there is a door that directs cold or hot air behind the dashboard in order to make the passenger's side colder or hotter relative to the driver's side.
The a/c door servo may be bad, or the temperature settings for each zone are not balanced.
In-vehicle Temperature Sensor Removal & Installation
  1. For the Five Hundred and Montego;
    • Lower the steering column to the full tilt-down position.
    • Remove the instrument cluster finish panel screws.
    • Release the locking tabs on the steering column upper shroud located behind the steering wheel.
    • Remove the instrument cluster finish panel and the steering column upper shroud as an assembly.
  2. For the Freestyle;
    • Remove the lower steering column cover.
    • Remove the lower steering column shroud.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector from the in-vehicle temperature sensor.
  3. Remove the in-vehicle temperature sensor.
To Install:
  1. Reverse the removal procedure to install.

2005 ford excursion cam sensor location I need to change the cam sensor and the crank sensors on my excursion and i do not know where they are located

On my 02 Excursion with the 7.3L Diesel, the Cam Position Sensor is located at the front bottom of the engine on the passengers side. There is one electrical pigtail plug that is attached and one bolt holds the sensor in position. It may be located in a similar location on your 05 Ex. I do not know where the crank sensor is located. I hope this helps.
