SOURCE: Tail lights don't work on 1998 Chevy Silverado.

check the wiring from the tailights back to the fuse panel, it sounds like an open connection. if i recall correctly check under the dash on the drivers side near the fuse panel for a bunch of wires in a bundle and look carefully for a wire or two that are cut/shorted/or seperated, you can also check under the drivers side kick panel by the hood release.

No tail lights 2007 Sonata have brake lights and blinkers just no tail lights

If ALL the rear lights are out (tail, brake/signal, center stop light), problem is probably a connector in the wiring harness at the rear of the car. If just one set of these, carefully check fuses, bulbs, bulb sockets and connectors.

Keyless Remote Module for 1998 Chevy Malibu

Removal Procedure
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Open the rear compartment lid.
Remove the remote door lock receiver (2). The receiver (2) is located between the rear package shelf and the rear package shelf cover, to the right of the center access hole. Compress the 4 tabs and slide the receiver (1) down through the access hole.
Disconnect the electrical connector (1).

Only left tail light does not work. left break light works fine. All other lights work. New bulb, good fuse, and new connector that the bulb plugs into. I can ground the middle wire going into the...

poor ground, check the wire harness, this is the one that comes from front of vehicle to the rear and plugs into the wires that go to the rear lights. trace the wire coming out of the light itself and eventually you will see that it comes to a connector that attaches to the wiring harness.

NEED TO REEPROGRAMING A REMOTE CONTROL FOR A MALIBU 1998 HOW '?

1. Make sure ignition is in the OFF position.
2. Locate the Programming Connector in the trunk (center of rear shelf). It is a plastic connector with
two wires leading up to it. The connector is not plugged into anything. You may have to pull back
trim to access the connector.

3. The programming connector should have two terminals. Connect both terminals with a suitable
jumper wire. The Keyless Entry Module will lock then unlock all the door lock motors once. Make
sure the terminals remain connected throughout the programming procedure.

4. Press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter simultaneously for at least 15
seconds or until the vehicle automatically locks and unlocks the door locks. Your new remote has
been accepted and all existing remote codes have been erased.

5. Repeat the previous step for each transmitter to be programmed. Do not remove jumper wire in
between programming of transmitters.

6. Remove the jumper wire from the Keyless Programming Connector.

Change Dodge Ram tail lights from 2005 to new 2008. The wiring harness to change from the 05 to the updated 08 are different. Is there a adapting wire harness from dodge for this?

I just got a pair of 2008 tail light lens for my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. If you look under the rear there is a connector that runs up to the tail light. This is a small harness. I believe that all you need to do is purchase the 2008 tail light harness. It looks like it will snap into the bottom of the stock harness and will fit the 2008 lenses.

Programing keyless entry

If you have an owners manual the programming instructions are in there. If no manual here they are:

1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Ground the receiver program terminal. Jump the two terminals located in the programing ground connector. (What this means in simple terms is locate the wires that run on the right side of the trunk. There is two black wires that has a plug on the end with two prongs. It is in between the antenna and tail lights.)
3. Within 2 seconds of connecting the prongs the door locks will lock. The unlock and the rear compartment lid release will produce a cycle, causing the horn to chirp. This indicates that the module is ready for reprogramming.
4. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time until the doors lock and unlock. The rear compartment lid will release and the horn sounds to indicate that the transmitter has successfully been reprogrammed. (Hold buttons down for approximately 12 seconds)
5. Repeat the previous step for the remaining transmitters.
6. Remove the jumper at the program connector.
7. Verify the proper operation of each transmitter
