SOURCE: rear brake lights wont work on our 2005 chevy aveo ????

It sounds like you should check for power at brake pedal switch. Hook up a test light to the switch and press the brake pedal. If the light does not go on and you have power in the wires to the switch then the switch should be replaced.
I hope this helps you out

battery may be shot, take it to a local parts store for free testing. if it's not that then it may be a charging issue or a short somewhere.

NOW. These cars are notorious for timing belts snapping and GM has advised to replace at 60K. I have this car and it has an interference engine, meaning that if the belt snaps there is a good chance the engine's pistons will bend the intake/exhaust valves, meaning you would have to have the engine rebuilt if this happens.

I am about to have mine changed, along with the water pump and tensioner since the water pump should be replaced before 100,000 and involves the same labor. I've found that at a Chevy dealership the whole package ranges from $500-$800 depending on who you call.

Its a 2005 Chevy Aveo and for some reason the front and rear windshield wipers dont work.

Check the fuse first it's in the underhood fuse relay panel and there names are marked on the inside of the lid (wiper) Some units have a relay too and it can fail.
