SOURCE: replaced radiator leaking from bottom of engine checked hoses ok

I had similar problem and it was the heater control valve. First opinion was Midas. second opinion was local shop. Third opinion was heater core (wrong). But you will have cooling trouble because of the bad timing belt/chain bearings that put pressure on the engine and some and cooling system. Sometimes the belt blows and takes all the front of the engine with it. GM paid for the fix of bearings and paid for some cars after bearings blew but it ruins the cooling system and they pretend it does not.

SOURCE: I HAVE A 2000 CADILLAC ESCALADE IT IS LEAKING POWER STERRING

Hi ydz,

Sounds like it's pumping out a lot of fluid..

There is something else that happens periodically, The fittin\gs on the hi pressure hoses get loose. Happened to me the first week of Summer.

All I had to do was tighten them back up, add some more fluid and drive away.

If this is not the case, the leaking component does need to be replaced.

Best regards
Mike

I need to replace my transmission cooler lines on my 1995 GMC Jimmy is there just the bolts that hold them to the transmission and radiator or do I have to lift up on the motor or is there clamps ?

All of the transmission fluid can leak out. The cooling lines are there to cool the tranny fluid, and it is circulated through the radiator by means of a pump. If a line is leaking, the pump will just empty the fluid out through the leak. The lines are usually just held in place by clamps to keep them from chafing through against the body or chassis, so replacing them should be quite an easy job. Just undo the bolts that hold them to the box and the radiator, undo however many clamps hold them in place, and reverse the procedure with new pipes.

How to replace the thermostat

Hi, if you follow the bottom hose on your radiator to your motor, right where the hose goes is where the thermostat is. Its pretty simple to replace.
Follow the hose that goes from the top of the radiator to the top of the engine. The hose is black flexible, roughly 1.5" in diameter. This hose goes into a "gooseneck" on the top of the engine, secured with a clamp. Remove the clamp and the hose, and remove the gooseneck from the engine. The thermostat will be located underneath the gooseneck. Simply lift out the old thermostat, install the new one, and replace the gasket. Reassemble.

Take care

How many fuel filters are on a 2003 Cadillac Escalade esv ?

There is only one fuel filter on a 2003 Cadillac, If I remember correctly the fuel filter on my 03' was on the frame rail drivers side rear and it was pretty simple to replace. You do need a fuel filter fuel line quick release tool, common to by at any parts store with the fuel filter that should be replaced every 15,000 to 25,000 miles or once a year.
