SOURCE: loss of power going up hill

fuel pump is bad. they are under extented warranty from ford. take to dealer and "insist" they change it. there is service bulletin on this, but dealers often play "dumb".

SOURCE: 96 Ford Explorer is studdering (misfiring) when going up hills

I have the same exact problem that just started immediately AFTER I got a tranny service where they changed the Trans Fluid, Trans Filter, Fuel Filter. Took it back and they say nothing is wrong with it. Took it to the dealer thinking I could get some REAL answers... they just told me to replace spark plugs, wiring & coil, for $900. Only studders when quickly accelerating above 40mph. I've check other forums, they say to clean the Mass Air Flow sensor. Haven't tried it yet. This seems the easiest before replacing spark plugs. Any other suggestions anyone?? Please.....

SOURCE: Stalls at low speed when in cruise control

You sould have recieved a "recall" notice in the mail about the cruise control for fire and failure issues. they are adding a fusable link where the cruise control harness connects to the brake master cylinder. if you have not had the recall performed yet you should SERIOUSLY consider getting it done, mainly so it doesnt catch fire, but "could" be the result of the failure you've been experiancing! btw, almost ALL Ford vehicles have been affected with the cruise control recall. hope this helps!

SOURCE: why does my 1987 ford f250 sputter when going up

when u are going up a hill this puts a load on the ignition system, this causes any marginal spark plug wires to short to the engine and cause a missfire, this is most likely what is wrong with the truck

Testimonial: "I'll check into that. Thanks for the tip. "

Where it's the speed module on a 03 Ford explorer Eddie Bauer

I'm guessing you're referring to the cruise control (speed control module)? I've included a pic to refer to what it looks like. depending on a v6 or v8 engine the location may differ under the hood. The wiring going into the object in the foreground is the module, with the cable on top that goes to the throttle to control speed.

Kia sportage 2007 sputters when I drive jerks and this am as I tried to speed up it didn't seem to want to shift up just reving ??!! I changed allready pump belts and do many other parts what could it be ?...

sputters in the context if engine, means MISFIRING, is it?

for a transmission, they dont sputter. sorry

but can jerk, or snatch, (being caused by gears engaging way to late)

(aka, harsh shifting) the opposite of slip

but it can slip then engage, causes a jerk. or harsh shifting.

see?

they do 100 things wrong, mostly never to sputter.

they don\'t shift up or down

they slip. (bad tranny)

if engine sputters, its tune up time, (posted like 10,000 times here)

if the transmission has issues, have real mech test it and tell you

all the symptoms, and possible ideas.

why not?

the A/T is a very very complex electro /mechanical device.

sputter is a word best for engines. like chain saw with a bad spark plug it sputters along and stalls.

does your car stall?

I have a 2005 ford focus. it has been sputtering and actinglike its going to die when im at a complete stop. And it also loses power and starts jerking when im going up hill. its almost like its not...

First, check your emissions warranty on that vehicle. Secondly, although not impossible, on a 4yr old vehicle, that doesn't sound right, unless you've been running improper fuel or additives or something. I've got a 98 & 99, that still are running on original converters? Wouldn't hurt to call Ford owner relations, # in your owners manual. Have you VIN# ready & mileage. Let me know what they say. If you don't get any help from Ford on the issue, check local parts & exhaust places, they usually have a catalytic converter for replacement, at a much cheaper price that will do the job. For example, autozone price for a 2.0L focus, converter says $94.
