SOURCE: Changing a speedometer cable

This is not specific to a Chevy, but the speedometer cable generally is held in place with either a threaded nut or a retaining clip. Pulling on it will just cause damage. Disconnect it from the speedometer and feed the cable through the grommet in the firewall.

SOURCE: where is the fuse box on a 2000vw passat

here are some try this According to the MANUAL (:-)) for the 2001 Beetle, most fuses are in a compartment at the left side of the dashboard. Place a screwdriver into the slot to pop the lid off. The Fuse Card identifies fuses with silly Symbols, and there is no Legend (on the card or in the Manual) indicating what they mean.
There are also 3 or 4 fuses in a compartment atop the Battery-box, and there is no indication (symbolic or otherwise) of what they are for.

When you open the driver's side door, it is located on the side of the dash. Just pry the cover off with a screw driver. There should also be a diagram in the cover.

How do i tune the engine?

Replace the spark plugs and wires first then if it still runs poorly you may have other more serious problems. Since worn plugs and wires really don't make the engine misfire unless one is broken or the spark plug wires leaks to ground.

Volkswagen passat wagon 2004 codes p0300 p0302 p0304 p0011 runs fine

You have random misfire codes as well as misfires detected on cylinders #2 and #4. P0011 is likely the root cause of the misfire being detected
P0011 VOLKSWAGEN - 'A' Camshaft Position Timing Over-Advanced Or System Performance problems.

Possible causes- Dirty engine oil
- Low engine oil level
- Camshaft actuator circuit open or shorted
- Camshaft actuator circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty camshaft actuator

There may be a factory bulletin on this code, check with the VW dealer on that. Possible defective Camshaft actuator.

1999 VW Passat 1.8 turbo Code #3 cylinder misfire. Replaced coil and all plugs, still have misfire...???

Coils and plugs are not the only things that can cause misfires. Misfires can be caused by vacuum leaks, low compression, faulty fuel injectors, clogged EGR ports (on vehicles with individual ports for each cylinder), blown head gaskets, burned valves...you can spend a LOT of money on parts by just going in and replacing things without diagnosing WHY the cylinder is misfiring.

My speedometer wont work on my 67

You have a speedometer cable. You can unhook it from either end, behind the speedometer head, or at the transmission. Get the wheels off of the ground and run it in gear and see if the cable turns at the speedo head end. If it does, your speedometer is bad. If not continue down to the transmission end to see if the drive is trying to turn the cable at the transmission. It should be relatively simple on that car.

Speedometer not working

It all depends, usually there are only three things it could be. 1st, your speedometer cable. If you pull the speedometer out, and unhook the cable from the back...........pull the cable out of the middle of the sheath, and make sure it isn't broken off, if that checks out, slide it back in there (could take some twisting and pushing). Then, (you will need 2 people) unhook the cable from the side of the transmission, and spin the cable from the bottom, and make sure someone is watching the speedometer, and tells you if it moves. If not, you need a new speedometer, if it does move, you will need the small gear in the transmission. Make sure when you pull the cable out, you pull it all the way out. When putting it back, it might be easier if you leave it unhooked from the transmission so the sheath has less bends in it, you can just let it hang down. Good luck, hope all goes well.
