I assume the noise only occurs when the truck is moving. A few things you could start with - look for something being dragged or rubbing in a wheel well, a failing CV or u-joint on the drive line, or a wear indicator dragging on one of the brake rotors.
Take it an have it check before you ruin your vehicle .
Thanks that's really helps
Well ,what do you expect ? Vehicles can make grinding noises form a lot of different places . Take to someone who can hear it . Anyone on here would be just guessing . If i told your it was a wheel bearing , what would you do ? Replace all the wheel bearing's ?????? Or maybe it's inside the engine or transmission . Take it to someone who can listen to it .

When dash lights don't work odds are the tail lights don't work either.Sounds like Dimmer switch may be a problem.

Don't go tearing into this yet! It could be your transfer case encoder motor if it is wearing out it could be making a lot of noise when trying to shift. And if it can't shift into 4 wheel it will automatically go back to 2 high eventually your 4h button wont allow you to try and shift it and it will automatically go into neutral if you try. But if this isn't your problem your looking at a problem in your planetary gears because everything else is moving already in your transfer case that is the only thing I can think of unless its a problem in your front end. Three things mechanically when you shift into 4 wheel drive your encoder motor shifts your actuator in your front end engages and your gear selector fork moves your sprocket from 2h to 4h in your planetary in the transfer case good luck. I put my money on the shift encoder motor. I'm no expert just a poor guy who fixes his own rigs, I own a 2004 gmc sierra and have dealt with 4 wheel problems in the past good luck.
