Check your engine oil using the oil dipstick located on the engine - you need to add oil to the fill line as shown on the dipstick. You should have the oil replaced regularly (every 3-6 months) and keep your eye on the level if the engine is leaking oil underneath or burning a lot of it.

SOURCE: oldsmobile aurora where is the oil sending unit

It should be on the left side of the engine(front of car) wiring runs under and around oil pan maybe wires are torn or pulled out of connector.oil sending unit is usually right in the same area of oil filter.

SOURCE: 1996 oldsmobile aurora oil pressure

The Aurora is a low pressure oil system. The only solution available at this time is to increase the oil weight. I went o straight 30W to solve the idle alarm issue. Some use 20W oil and that works too.
With 20W you will be at 80 to 90psi cold then drop to 20-30psi hot.
I first replaced the oil pressure gauge and it was worse. I put the original back in and it was better. Then went to 30W and all is fine.
Running it that way for a few years now.

98 Olds Aurora A/C won't take a charge and gauges don't move (high or low sides). the pressure is 55 on the low and 120 on high but do not go up or down but compressor is running.

is the electric clutch engaging? if so your compressor is shot. if not, check the fuse panels (under dash and under hood). It could also be a relay located in the fuse block under the hood. Hope this helps.

98 Olds Aurora V8 gives me an in-dash and audible low oil pressure warning. Engine running normal, there is no tapping and the oil level is where it should be. Oil needs changed according to indicator, but...

check for the oil pressure sending unit. i'm not sure where on the engine this sensor is on your vehicle, but look for a single wire sensor somewhere on the side of the block. hopefully, there'll be a bit of oil dripping from it, because it's a fairly cheap part and easy to replace. otherwise, you may actually have low pressure from a clogged pump pick tube or bad pump.
