Hello! I presume from your brief description the ticking/clocking noise goes after a few seconds? if so I wouldn't be at all worried, your Hydraulic lifters are doing there job filling themselves with oil again and getting to work.
If However they are making a clicking/tappety type noise all the time then there is an additive you can purchase specifically designed to assist Hydraulic Lifters of which I would add after a Quality Oil and Oil filter change.
Hope This FixYa's Problem!

Don't shot the messenger but without tranny fluid your transmission may have cooked itself. I hope I am wrong but I expect you'll need to rebuild or replace the tranny.

Wish I could offer better news,

ok... check your transmissino dip stick to see if the fluid level is regeresting on the dip stick. now this IS WHAT A LOT OF PEOPLE DONT KNOW.......NEVER I MEAN ....NEVER CHECK THE TRANSMISSION DIP STICK WHEN THE CAR IS NOT RUNNING, ITS OK TO CHECK YOUR OIL DIP STICK WHEN THE CAR IS NOT RUNNING.BUT YOUR TRANS IS DIFFERENT...... heres what you do...... START YOUR CAR...THEN PUT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON ...THEN PUT THE CAR IN NUTURAL....... NOW YOU WILL GET A REANING ON YOUR DIP STICK IFITS LOW THEN ADD FLUID.. REMEMBER ALWAYS CHECK THE TRANEE IN NUTERAL THE BRAKES ON AND THE CAR RUNNING.....HOPE THIS HELPS. GOOD LUCK...........
