Check the oil level on the dip stick and make it correct. This engine should have a low oil shut down feature. Possible oil pump failure. With oil at correct level, restart engine. If the oil light does not go out with engine running, shut down immediately. Severe Internal rotating component bearing damage has already occurred. look for loose oil filter or hole in oil pan.
Better check your oil level first. If there's plenty of oil you probably have a bad oil pump. Do not try to drive the car if your oil level is o.k. have it checked by a competent machanic.

could be a bad oil filter, plugged sump pick up tube screen, have a mechanical oil guage installed to ge an accurate reading, althoug i suspect if the engine is making noise it may be damaged, best to remove the oil pan for inspection, metal shavings in the bottom indicate serious problems

Yes it could be the pump, or something blocking a passage in the block or cyl head.

Symptoms of a bad EGR valve are usually stumbling idle or the engine stalling when the car is warm (normal operating temperature). Find the EGR valve and locate the vacuum line attached to it. Start the engine cold and wait for it to warm up. When the engine starts to stumble, pull off the vacuum line. If the EGR is bad, the engine idle will stabilize and no longer stumble.

Loss of oil pressure Will also Drop the interlock for fuel pump. It will only run on cold start prime. engine will stop after prime burns off.
I Believe the oil pump is driven off of the counter-balance shaft. This shaft is prone to high mileage failure. I have also Seen Pressure relief Valve in the oil pump sticking in the open position. Stretching the spool spring slightly will solve this problem.
