this is uSA forum where are you.?????????
the question can NOT be answered ! why? (1,2,3,4,5 above)
you never said hot or cold engine?
cold idles at its own spec. speed higher... a fact and cold idle based on overnight, parked average ambient temperatures.
a fact.
our jeep,is a WJ, in Europe it WG 2004
guess what , not same car, but same name,.. yes, shocking facts.
why not get car a tuneup
or serviced if things suddenly seem wrong...
your post reads as though, you just bought the car.
or is first care ever?
or never noticed cold engines raced, ?
tossing coins for you. landing on........ 4L
4.0L uSA GAS 4.0L inline 6,
cold idle is 1000 rpm chapter 9 serv. manual. IAC section
the PCM limits fast idle to 1800 to 2000 say with huge vacuum leak,or TPS failures.
engine in limp-in (home) mode, rpm is 1100. hot.
hot idle.750 +-50 rpm
btw the cluster tachometer is not instrument grade
only scans tell true RPM (or hand IR gun tach).
a dash tach is a toy, really.
some jeeps have optional (wench or snow plow) extened idle
switch ,on = 1000 rpm and same on police cars.
fact 2, there is no idle speed adjustment, its PCM hard coded.
The PCM controls the IAC to set RPM ,
on a hot engine, you can throw on the heater blower
the head amps, and RPM holds. not drop.'this shows you
the idle controls work
the dash meter is just toy, can be off 100rpm easy, after 13 years of service, we scan it, the scan tool never lies.
I think should be around 750.
