Headlight bulb replacemnent

Danielle, On the driver side you may have stuff in the way, which may have to be removed, to change bulb. Sometimes it is easier to remove headlight then change bulb and reassemble. Videos attached make it look fairly easy to change he bulb with out removal of headlight.

To remove first you want to remove the headlight door mounting screws and remove the headlight door. Then you want to remove the 4 retainer ring screws and remove the retainer ring from the headlight. Then you want to pull the headlight bulb forward and detach the wiring connector.

To install you first want to attach the wiring connector to the headlight bulb and place the bulb in position, locating the bulb glass tabs in the positioning slots. Then you will attach the bulb retainer ring to the assembly with the retainer ring screws. Then you will install the headlight door and secure with the screws. Then you will check the headlight bulb aim and adjust as necessary

You don't have to remove the headlight to change the bulb. The bulb can be removed from the back of the headlight, usually by turning the bezel ring that holds the bulb onto the headlight housing. Just make sure you do not touch the glass part of the bulb while replacing it or it will burn out again fast.

1. Disconnect the Battery and wait at least 2-minutes, inorder for Airbag Sensors to disengage.
2. Open the hood.
3. Remove the bulb: Turn the retaining ring (with ridges) counterclockwise approximately 1/8 to 1/4 turn. Pull the bulb out using the base of the bulb and not the wires.
4. Remove the bolt holding the Headlight Assembly to the Radiator Support Panel.
5. Remove the bolt on-top of the Headling Assembly.
6. Pull the Headlight Assembly out the front.
7. Disconnect any remaining electrical connections.

Reach beind the headlight and just unscrew the cap that holds it in. However don't touch the new bulb with your bare fingers or you will drastically shorten the life of the bulb.

If you are only changing the bulbs, on the back of the headlight assembly, you'll see two metal retainers that hold the rear cover to the assembly.  Pop those outward from the headlight, and the rear cover will be loose.  Pull back on it, and you'll see the bulbs.  Turn the retainer counter-clockwise, and it will pull off, allowing you to remove the bulb.  Installation is the reverse of removal.

The entire headlight comes out from the exterior of the car. When you open your hood, there is a lever that you need to slide up. The light will then pop out and you will be able to replace the bulb and then pop the light back in. You will have to push hard inorder to get the lever to go back down. We had better luck with two of us doing it... one pushing... the other working the lever.

If you are just trying to change the bulb, here is the correct procedure.



Step1 Set the parking brakeand remove the keys from the ignition. Make sure the headlamps are switched off, then open the hood using the primary and auxiliary release latches. Step2 Locate the back of the assembly containing the malfunctioning headlight bulb. If either the air intake cover or engine coolant reserve tank are blocking the bulb sockets, remove it and set it aside. Step3 Remove the electrical connector from the back of the bulb by squeezing its tabs and pulling it away from the socket. Step4Turn the bulb one quarter-turn counterclockwise and pull it out of thesocket. Headlight bulbs are fragile, so be careful not to drop orscratch it. Step5 Twist the new bulb into the socket and reattach the electrical connector to the socket. Step6 Test the new headlight to make sure it works before replacing the air intake cover or coolant tank and closing the hood.

Hey inorder to acces the turn signals you have to remove the whole headlight encasement. It sounds liek a huge process but it's incredibly simple. there are 2 white clips that you can remove by pulling up on them and sliding them outward from the headlight encasement. Open the hood and theres on right in the corner and the other is on the opposit end of the headlight case.

you should be able to access the connector and bulb without removing headlight assembly. lift the hood and you should see the connector behind the headlight.
