'95 tahoe making noise when accelerating; sounds

Not sounding to good. Sounds like you wiped out the planetary gears. Depending on the damage, your looking at $2000 rebuild.

could be font cv axles one or both could be bad

check for hangings anything hanging may rub on other items and make a noise... you may have bent a rod for the drive section or cracked the case...look for fluid leaking

I had this problem with my 99 Ford. I replace the two electric over vacuum switches on the passenger firewall.

Sometimes the front end alignment can affect how the car shifts in and out of 4 wheel drive... are your front end parts worn out? (usually happens with worn out ball joints) I got mine out by compleatly lifting the front tires off the ground and shaking the front wheel while a friend worked the geers (foot on brake, lever in nuteral, make sure your on level sturdy ground)

Sounds like yoou have a short either in the switch pod or in the 4wd electrics. Check for pinched wires or bare wires grounding out at the front axle and at the transfer case.

my son has one and his did that and it was a fuse he put a new one in and it is working good now

Stick it in 2wd. Now back it up a good bit. Now pull it forward. Now make a turn. If it lurches, then repeat.

After this, check your tires. If the tires are different sizes. or the front is worn more than the rear, or even if they're different manufacturers, or if the tire pressure is low, then these could all be reasons that the transfer case is getting confused and is finding it hard to come out of 4wd.

This is assuming that the transfer case is in good working order and has the correct amount and type of fluid in it.

It sounds like your driveline to the rear wheels is broken. Could be transfer case output shaft to the rear wheels has broken. Try disconnecting the rear drive shaft and see if you can turn it by hand with the transfer case engaged in 2WD. If you can turn it while the Sahara is in gear, the output shaft is no longer connected to the engine for some reason.

1. I would suggest that you engage your 4WD while you are in full stop and/or safe range of 5mph, however as claimed by the local dealers your vehicle is capable of engaging even while driving. Engage your 4WD while moving only when necessity requires.
2. That clicking noise while turning extreme right or left would be the birfield of your axle and would only mean your front hub is still engage even though you have disengaged transfer case.
Have your front hubs cleaned of old lubricants or grease due to non usage. dont use grease as lubricants, use thick oil such as gear oil or silicone oil. and use your 4WD every now and then.

Do this first then check if you still feel somtehing is loose on your suspension and others.
