SOURCE: Audi A4 B5

According to a buddy of mine who did it on a 99:

Pull up on the little trim piece behind the steering wheel. Underneath it are two phillips screws. Remove them and the instrument cluster will wiggle out. You'll have to disconnect the plugs on the back of the instrument cluster. They can be a little tricky, and even moreso to reinstall. You'll see how the bulbs come out after that.

SOURCE: Audi 2001 Speaker

Nope - this site isn't a sales site, it's just a tech advice site on how to fix problems. Your best bet for buying a speaker would be eBay, a salvage yard like www.shokan.com, or the classifieds sections on www.audiforums.com or www.audizine.com.

SOURCE: getting codes P0341, p0300, p0301, p0302, p0303 on

Hello! The Trouble codes are pointing at ONLY cylinders 1-2-and 3 (P0301, P0302, and P0303)...P0300 is telling you Random Misfires...P0341 is pointing at the Camshaft Positioning Sensor A (Bank One)...When you face the front of the engine, the Left Bank are cylinders 1, 2, and 3...Although TSB's are written for this problem that isn't much help since you'll pay for it anyway...

The solution is to replace the Camshaft Positioning Sensor A...Of course, check its connector first for bent, dirty or broken pins...Buy a can of Electronic Contact Spray and clean both male and female ends of the connector before buting a new sensor....Follow procedure below...Push two safety pins into the rear of the connector on the specified pin #'s...See diagrams below....Saailer

  1. Connect a Digital Volt Meter to measure voltage across the CMP connector terminals 1 (B+) and 3 (Ground).
  2. Switch ignition to "ON", but Do NOT start engine.
  3. Measure voltage between terminals 1 and 3 . There should be a minimum 9.0 volts.
  4. Switch the ignition "OFF".
  5. If reading is not 9.0 volts replace the sensor...
  6. You'll have to remove the timing chain to replace it...

You make it sound like it's our fault you can't find it :>D

The start of production of the Audi A4 B5 is 1994. With minor changes, it was produced until 2001. At first, only the sedan version was available, the station wagon (Avant) appeared a year later. This material provides information on relay circuits and fuses Audi A4 b5 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, with an assignment of their elements and locations.

Can't get much clearer than this. Relay 4 is one plus 'Additional Relays 23 and 24. Plus fuse 23 and 24.

Anything to look out for when buying a second hand b5 A4 Audi Quattro ?

the timing chains are located at the rear of the motor requiring a transmission removal to replace
If the chains need replacing and the guides and tensioners will be close to needing replacement that is an added cost to be considered
ask service agents and accredited service centers who work on Audi how much that procedure costs

My audi a4 1998 1.8t Quattro b5 manual transmission its hard to engage

Is it always hard to engage or only when the engine is running? If it is only when the engine is running, then the clutch is worn and needs to be replaced.

Wheel Bearings

Yep - our cars are known for eating wheel bearings (I have a 99 2.8 quattro). I just did my rear left, which was howling, and now that it is quiet, I can hear the rear right going bad. The B5 chassis cars (96-01) are known for wheel bearing, control arm, and cruise control failures almost as much as they're known for fantastic driving and excellent traction in bad weather.
