Oil is transmitted to cylinder valve train rockers by oil pump from the oil pump...now i dont think the oil pump pressure is diminished unless high mileage . Most dash quages will show pressure or a mechanic can place a quage on engine ..general oil pressure at 1000 rpm is 30 to 35 psi. POOR MAINTANCE LACK OF OIL CHANGES CREATES CONTAIMINATION AND clogging from goop of old oil ...Oul gallery and oil passages are clogged or partially....take valve cover off and inspect or clean... Flush engine with a cleaner ot automatic transmission fluid let run for 20 minutes and drain . Add fresh oul and oul filter

Hie, What causes high water pressure and rising temperature in my golf tdi engine, Recently the head was schemed and now the water circulation is too pressurerised to the extend of stressing the water...

The water is not circulating. Check you thermostat and replace if it does not open at the designated temperature. If not, replace. Also check radiator for clogging then flush it or have it professionally cleaned.

Oil in expansion (coolant) reservoir Golf 1.4 98

replace the oil cooler first before you change the head gasket ,but normally a 10 year old vehicle often has gasket fatigue ,not made like a good old fashioned copper head gasket ,they rarely went wrong

The most cheapest way is as follow: Disconect the hoses from the oil cooler and connect them together.Clean coolant system from the oil and drive about 20 miles.Check again coolant system. If there is oil-change cylinder head gasket. If not-change oil cooler. If you are in London go to see Hall service centre N17 Ferry lane next to Hall subway station-Tottenham.Tell Duane -Sabo send me here.

Coolant leaking regularly but no evidence. Heating system has deteriorated...difficult to decondense. any ideas?

The MK4 VW's has a nasty habit of coolant (Glycol) buildup where it's leaking. It won't show on the floor but very noticeable where ever it's leaks if you know what to look for. As mentioned, checking your head gasket would have a high percentage causing your problem.

If it were a head gasket problem, steam would come out of your exhaust vaporized from the hot metal parts. If you don't have that, you can either check your oil for brown gooey consistency or the same goo in your coolant reservoir.

VW uses an after run auxiliary pump to keep the coolant circulating inside the hot engine block after shut down. This prevents the breakdown of the coolant from cooking itself from the hot engine block. With the use of an after run pump, circulation of coolant in the system after shut down happens and can last as long as 10 mins. Liquid coolant in a hot state leaking out will solidify as soon as air cools it down.

I have this buzzing problem with my vw citi golf 1.4i

Not sure what model your car is,but try checking the two oil sender units, one located onthe side of the cylinder head[gearbox side]and the other on the oil filter housing. Also have a mechanic check oil pressure, should be+-2bar pressure at idle.If everything checks out, including the wiring, try another instrument cluster..Good luck

Engine lost power then stopped

Check your radiator and see if you have oil in it by what you are describing it sounds like you got it to hot and possibly blew a head gasket.....this vehicle has a low indicator oil switch if your lucky and havent blown gasket try adding oil to required level and then start this will also confirm if head gasket is blown by the presence of the oil lookin like coffee with alot of cream....Good Luck...Please rate so it helps with future diagnostics .....Thank you

Oil around 1 spark plug well.

More than likely you have a leaking valve cover gastet. Not a head gasket.
