Hi Steven M Pagh, I didn't get a chance to add this to my post, check to make sure that the amount of ribs on the belt are what is meant for your car OR maybe someone switched out a alternator or something with a thinner puller or less ribbed, Will eat your belt on the end.. Good luck..

Most likely one of your pulleys are bent or worn out bearings .. you have to look close but one will be tilted from the tension pulley..

OF hand you if can't see it and are good at changing belts on the car, remove the belt from the tension pulley and shake the pulleys, one will have Play, most likely I'll assume its the water pump as I have seen a few that didn't make much noise but was turned inward and was rubbing the aluminum casing of the pump.. You will find a pulley with play ...

Crankshaft Pulley 2001 Chevy Malibu coming out. Through Belt how do I get it back aligned?

Hi Crystal,
You will need to know if the crank shaft pulley is coming apart or missing the lock down nut. The ring on the outer edge of the pulley is held in place by molded rubber, I would think this will be your problem.

Serpentine belt 1999 chevy malibu is slipping off cranshaft pulley

Make sure that the belt is fully seated in ALL pulleys, if it still slips off, then you have a pully that is bent, or out of alignment.

1998 malibu shreding belts

Before installing a new belt spin all pulleys by hand. They should spin amoothly and freely. Check alternator, idler, tensioner, power steering and A/C. If any are hard, rough, or seized replace. Check that the belt aligns correctly with all pulleys and remove any debris embedded in the grooves.

I have a 2001 Chevy Malibu the overflow bucket keeps losing tha fluid and running hot but I don't see anything on the ground

could be leaking while your driving down the road. check the bottom of the hood and see if the cooling pump is spraying the coolant around(the coolant that comes Chevys is sometimes very corosive to the aluminum parts in your coolant system). should be a wet spot by were your belts are if the pump is leaking. try fushing your coolant.
