Check wiring from the battery, make sure connections are tight. Also check to make sure the main wiring harness where it gos through the firewall bulkead is tight and not damaged, and also check to make sure all ground return straps and wires are secure and wiring is general in good condition. Also make sure the connector on the engine computer is attached securly.
If it continues to do so, have battery checked for a broken connection between cells.

I take it from the definition dti that it is a direct turbo injection diesel and if that is correct the hard starting when cold is that the Go-plugs are not working. Check out the fuses and relays and the plugs them selves to see it the element is burnt out.

If by pop you mean that the slave cylinder piston came out of the cylinder then I would fix that by installing a longer push rod to take up the extra length required by the slave cylinder being too far away from the clutch throw out lever (or relocate the cylinder closer to the arm. The length would be about 1/4" shorter than when the piston is fully bottomed out and that will give you a bit of free play and not let the clutch slip. Keep the fly wheel in mind but as long as the throw out bearing stays on the clutch input shaft housing then the flywheel would not solve much
