How do i reset oil light on a 2003 lincoln town car?

That sounds like a blown fuse, but your vehicle also has 'lighting modules'.

Some of the cars have a MENU which allows an owner to toggle off/on the added gadgets on their car. Things like a Horn honk when setting the car alarm or whether lights flash off/on when unlocking a door, are just a few. What often happens is these controls are on the same MENU as the reset for an oil change.

Fumble finger oil techs change your presets when they try to reset your oil interval buttons on the MENU. Then you don't notice the changes until you start missing the features.

Try this... in order to reset CHANGE OIL SOON/OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message on the Message Center, press the STATUS control to access the System Check mode. Press the RESET button to display OIL LIFE _% RESET FOR NEW. Press and hold the RESET button until OIL LIFE IS 100% is displayed.

FIRST press and release the setup button to display oil life= xxx
then press and hold the reset button for about 2 sec it should then display oil life set to 100%

Just pressing the reset button when the change oil light comes on while driving will not reset the computer

Normally a removable cover in trunk area behind it will expose what you need.

Press setup on message center,
press select for system check,
At oil life, press reset

There is a sensor on the driver side on the oil pan. Either the sensor is bad, or has bad connection or you are a quart low.

If you have the owners manual it may tell you in there.Thats where I found mine for my camery.
