My 1992 isuzu normal cab 4X4 pickup has the tendancy to slip when it is warm outside and the truck gets warm.

At enitial startup the truck drives fine till i get a few miles away or have to sit at a few stop lights then when trying to leave so said stop light the trucks acts like the clutch wont fully engage or is just slipping so it moves very slow no matter how slow or fast i release the clutch pedal. A few weeks ago it snowed pretty good here where i live and the truck didnt have a single problem driving in those temperatures.. also i replaced the clutch less then id say 20/ 25000 miles ago.. any help out there

A clutch that is marginal will slip hot and seem fairly good cold. YOU NEED A CLUTCH.

So say my clutch slips
easy to tell, engine RPM goes high car not faster.
slip.
#1 is the clutch cable, go that
ignoring service, on all cable cars
cause the cable to go too tight.
and free play spec now wrong
and slip they all do, every one made, even a 1928 model A ford.

if you dont believe this, fun teaching kids this.
in field , or dirt road with no other people or cars.
we drop the cable.
and start car in gear. the clutch switch still works.
clutch does not slip now
lesson, RTM THE BOOK TOLD YOU , To service free play
are you in USA, welcome to a USA forum
not sure that car called NORMAL.
what country, cars vary by country and engine sizes.
non of which is stated
the free play see to 1/2"inch works, or 12mm.
one photo shows 5mm play.
pulling cable to see play.

we do have car 92 called PICKUP (DID I NAIL THIS)>??
cable clutches, 1992 pedal height.

some have master/slave clutch hydraulic actuators

if it goes dry clutch drags, (locks)
and cant push car , in gear. by hand pushing car , clutch to floor. easy no.
    but not slip
only very super rare, slave rusted inside can do that.
or the clutch linkage in he bell.
    gee seen them all
lets to more. even with new clutch,
    PP, throw-out and disc,.'''
    on all cars this old
when the trans is pulled we check that front spline for damage.
some are HORRID, and the disc can not move
as designed, and can catch there, and slip
that be it on , clutches new, slipping.
please post back with if cable
and is free play now set correctly
    thanks

    and undermines free play.!!!
that is why the book says do service at 15k miles>? (about)

M/t clutch slip is slip, no matter how or when it happens,
    it's wrong.
has 3 engines and 3 clutches, buying correct parts, matters.too,.

never do the 20hr labor fix, on 5min job
do the 5min first. and check 3 times. if savvy.
    next time post
    country
    and engine sizes there.
the PICKUP logo is USA version of car.
and 20 other names world wide, some record that.

Sounds like you need to replace the clutch and pressure plate.

4x4 transmission 1992 Isuzu 4x4 5 speed, clutch makes a grinding noise when the clutch pedal is depressed and stops when in gear & all gears. goes awat after a few miles of driving. Sound is...

nothing wrong with the clutch
indicates that the throw out bearing is dry and failing
as it goes after a few minutes of driving , it also indicates that there is residual pressure in the clutch system keeping the fingers in contact with the bearing which indicates a clutch master cylinder compensating port blocking up
If the clutch master cylinder has not been replaced in the last 5 years , it is suggested to replace that before you get a slipping clutch symptom

My pickup has developed a leak between the block and the oil filter housing unit, not the filter. Is there a gasket that needs to be replaced?

I do believe that there is actually a gasket that is between the oil filter housing assembly and the engine block. If it is anything like the Nissans, they do have a tendancy to start leaking over time.

Hope this helps..

My Isuzu d/cab diesel gives out white smoke when i start the engine is that bad?

In the morning,it is quite common for some white smoke to appear due to the difference in temperature of the outside and the heat of the engine, but should stop after warming up.If there is excessive smoke, there could be more wrong, possibly a blown head gasket.Try having a pressure check done on the cooling system as well as a compression test done on the cylinders.

The filter might be clogged/old and the cold makes the fluid heavy. With the 700r4 transmission its always best to let it warm up for a few minutes.

1991 Isuzu 4X4 Pickup 3.1 V6 won't warm start plus shudder in low

Your flywheel sound like it has hot spots on it, making the clutch chatter. You might need to pull the flywheel off and get it re-surface. This is like turning your rotor, or brake drum. If you pull the flywheel, you will see discolor spots on your flywheel. This is called hot spots, and will make the clutch slip.

On the other problem, have you changed to fuel filter and fuel pump. It almost sound like your running out of fuel????
